There's the Shelf Road up to Cripple Creek and Stagecoach Road from Gold Camp Road. ...very scenic and fun this time of year!

Wouldn't be fun today, though. Eeesh ... just had a nasty flashback to the day I got stuck on Rampart Range Road on a bright, sunny December day ... but the wind started blowing hard, and the road got blocked by a couple feet of snow in 30 minutes. We were lucky to get out of there.

That was the day I learned the true meaning of "Mountain Conditions Can Change Rapidly." I'm a lot more careful these days.

LOL! I'm glad that you made it out okay. We tried that on Mosquito Pass once and got up to the London Mine (chains). ...blew a limited slip rear end and replaced it with a locker after that. I'll never forget the words of my great, big, red-headed, Canadian brother-in-law. "I'm not pushing! I'm not pushing again!" We got it on tape! LOL!

Always wear the best extreme cold weather boots you can get. waterproof or water resistant (at least) shells over layers of clothing. And have a case of those little chemical (sawdust and other stuff) hand and foot warmers. Take drinking water, food and extreme cold weather sleeping bags.

...and snowboards (with helmets, motocross protective gear and first aid kits for backcountry)!

Army extreme cold weather survival training helps, too.

And walking after dark without a light, look behind you every few seconds (scares stalking lions away--no kidding).
