After a bitter cold freezing Friday night Walter Reed FReep (wind chill at 19 degrees), numerous Walter Reed FReepers got up early and once again FReeped in the cold weather. Luckily as we FReeped, the sun 'warmed' us up to the low 40s.
Those of us in attendance, 10 total, include BufordP, Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), DollyCali, Fraxinus, GunsareOK, iMacMan (iMM), Kristinn, Lurker Bill, (aka Bill from MD on Walter Reed AARs), Lurker Mark and myself. Pictures are by iMM except the ones I took of him.
[Mrs] T remained at the Olney Compound preparing for the D.C. Chapter Party along with the help of Apple Blossom. Sasha123 was over on Friday helping. Thanks to them both. Between their help and having FReepers bring various dishes, this year's preparations were a lot easier than last year. But more on the party in other threads.
The moonbats could only muster 6, and those were the 'older' Quakers and hippies. The younger MOBilizing Mothers and Peek-A-Boo2 were no where to be seen. Such dedication. /sarc
BELOW LEFT: DollyCali and friend, Lurker Mark on northwest corner. I just wanted to have my pic taken again. BELOW RIGHT: DollyCali taking our pics.
BELOW LEFT: DollyCali enjoying herself. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Mark walking over to the moonbats corner. He mingled in with them for a while until realized that his sign's message was being lost among the moonbats signs.
We had the MOAB2 with us today. Setup by Kristinn, BufordP, Lurker Bill, Fraxinus and myself follows.
BELOW TOP: Kicking the joints tight. BELOW BOTTOM: Doing the MOAB Lift.
BELOW LEFT: MOAB Up. BELOW RIGHT: MOAB Turn.
BELOW TOP: Walking the MOAB to its place of honor. BELOW BOTTOM: MOAB finally set up and flanked by FReepers.
BELOW LEFT: iMM coming back from taking pics of our group. BELOW RIGHT: Opps, my mistake, he's stopped to take one more pic.
We seemed to get a lot of flack, thumbs down and yelling, from the "Surrender" group of liberals this week. One lady cut off cars to stop at the curb in front of us. She loudly said her husband was preparing for his second tour in Iraq and that we should be ashamed of ourselves. I don't know if it was our more controversial signs or could it be they are finally coming down from their "high" from celebrating the demorats' wins on election day.
Either reason, our side still received many, many more supportive waves and honks from passing cars.
BELOW: BufordP with one of his three flip signs. Could that be why they were so upset today?
BELOW LEFT: Or could it have been GunsareOK's sign. BELOW RIGHT: Maybe its was the "Jon Carry" sign at Lurker Bill's corner.
BELOW LEFT: Kristinn, CTS and Fraxinus. CTS gave her bottom sign to Fraxinus. BELOW RIGHT: A local, Rick, stopped by for about a half hour. He was initially only going to say for a little bit, but BufordP kept him interested in our Support the Troops Rally.
iMM's pics below are excellent samples of our support. iMM takes almost 200 pics, reviews each one, then blurs the license plates of the good ones. Thanks iMM for your efforts.
BELOW: Pics of drivers wave with one hand while talking on cell phone with other hand. I assume they are steering with their knees.
BELOW LEFT: Supporter waving to GunsareOK and myself. BELOW RIGHT: Double wave.
BELOW LEFT: Supporter waving to BufordP, with Lurker Bill in back ground. BELOW RIGHT: Waver in "Bumper Car" that escaped from the Amusement Park.

Pingaroo
anyone know how far from the metro?
Give you one guess why he volunteeered for a second tour...
About 1.5 - 2 miles.
He didn't marry well.
Aaronarnwine - If you can make it to Olney one Saturday, let us know mid week and we'll see about getting you a ride. We sometimes have lunch afterwards so maybe you can make it for one of those Saturday's.
[Mr] T
BMW - I'll second that guess.

I love the MOAB, it says it all:
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS
DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM
AMERICAN HEROES
The support all of you give our soldiers is never in vain.
Wow, thanks.. just got home late (VERY ) last night/this morning actually. Haven't had time to even go thru pix to send to you for your inclusion in AAR...

I will write them up myself & post
Great Job Mr/Mrs. Trooprally - It is always an honor to be with the great DC Freepers at their events.
YOU ROCK!
Good job, people.
DollyCali Ping. Great mini report! Sorry I didn't get to meet you at the party, had to leave early. Thanks so much for coming to Olney.
Thanks for posting all the great pictures DC. It was great to meet you Saturday. Merry Christmas!
And same to you ma'am! I am not sure if I am posting the ones from Saturaday night or just sending them off to trooprally for posting.. I know you are "broken hearted" but I dont think I have ONE of you to post!
I truly cannot recall if I met you at the Inauguration. I tried to (and did) get the 4 ATRWers in a pix, your hubby included . Pix is on my profile page. I am recalling that you & anohter couple were against the wall when I located you for pix.. but there were SO many people/situations. I can barely remember yesterday, yet 2 years ago!
Thank you for helping to make the food so outstanding. Everything tasted wonderful
Glad you outnumbered the moonbats! Great job, folks!
Oh well, there goes my estimate.
Great photos so far -- can't wait to see more.
It was great seeing you again at the DC Chapter party. I'm so glad that you and Mark were able to make it to DC this year.
Please ping me to your photos. FReep On!
