that was one for the books, I was 9 years old and remember it as yesterday!
We were stuck in traffic 3 miles from home and listening to the radio of the astronauts talk to Houston, when Armstrong said TRANQUILITY BASE HERE, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED, all the cars started beeping their horns...except my Dad, we had to shout at him to make him beep our horn...he finally did...once! :)

The bad part is that I missed seeing the Apollo 11 moon landing... Did you really? I AM sorry.
We lived in an "oval" in suburbia...
I walked out in the back yard...we were surrounded by homes. I could look up and see the moon. I could hear the "beep" from all the homes.
One of the best moments of my life.

I was born 6 months after Apollo 13...
--
I used to collect Nasa stuff from about the age of 8 or so for a few years, that was in the early 60s timeframe, Mercury, Gemini but mostly Apollo related stuff
Nasa would send out,, I remember the day the Eagle Landed,, and watching along with the rest of the world.
Seems like yesterday.. (almost)
At least we may get to see the sequel together, Return to the Moon, if they get their butts in gear and just do it.

Sorry for the late reply. Took a break and was
reviewing the thread.

Cause I think the attitude is that went to moon, now what.. What Kennedy shoud have done is that we should go to the Moon and beyond... He only said we should go to the moon..

Beats me.. we went from 1969 to 1975,, we had some more parts as I recall to do it again,,
I guess the fellars living there told us to buzz off and we did ,, until now.. ;-)
