I told my mostly non-political hubby about this news, and the first thing he said is, "he's not going to make it." And that's from someone who isn't a political geek...

I'm in a serious quandry!

Why is it that these idiot politicians think they are so knowledgeable as to rise from a few years of public service to annoint themselves worthy of the Presidency???

All of these folks have no idea what the gravity of the Presidency is, and their only claim to fame that they shook hands with alot of parents with babies!

And, by the way, I'll include W (as much as I love him and his fortitude) in this mix of under-qualified presidential candidates!

I just came to check the news for 5 minutes and someone else pinged me to your announcement on this thread about the Wilson's. I'm laughing so hard I can barely type.

Maybe later I'll check in; for now I'm just enjoying the spectacle this will be.

This is just a ploy by Richards to position himself to negoiate with Hillary for the VP job. And, he would be able to deliver a sizeable portion of the hispanic vote I think. If you add up the demographics of this; Dem's have the blacks, gays, white labor, brain-dead soccor moms, and hispanics if she should choose Richards. So, the sum of all of these groups would put sweet Hillary over the top with ease I am afraid.

He's a fiscal conservative!

He lowered taxes in New Mexico and the state took off like gangbusters.

It's going to be a fun election year..We've got a woman, a black, and now an Hispanic running! Woo=hoo.

Get used to it. They represent the Dems strongest constituencies. The only one missing is a Jew. Any party that can put Al Sharpton forth as a legitimate Presidential candidate has no problem with tokenism. Richardson and Obama will be fighting it out to see who will be Hillary's VP running mate.

Re: William Howard Taft.

He was elected almost 100 years ago (1908). Long before TV or radio and the need for a presidential candidate to be attractive, if not always glib. Fat men were viewed as 'substantial' in those days and a trim build in middle-age usually meant poverty, which indicated that you were either stupid or just plain lazy.

That was then, this is now.

Is he that popular in New Mexico?

Bill Richardson won his reelection pretty easily.

A Mexican running for president knowing that soon there will be enough illegals to elect him.

That explains why he is against the fence.

He threw his SOMBRERO!!!

You should write commercials for the RNC.

You may also want to send that comment to Tony Snow so that he can use that line during Friday's W.H. Presser.
