And Vice President Dick Cheney met with Republican leaders on Capitol Hill.

That’s about it.

Oh wait. Almost forgot …

A group of self-centered, short-sighted fools led by James Baker and Lee Hamilton released their report on how we can surrender to our enemies.

Mom and I went out to dinner for her b-day last night, and we got to meet a Pearl Harbor survivor at the table next to ours. I, of course went right up to him and told him it was an honor to meet him, and thanked him for our freedom. As usual, their humility is remarkable; but I could tell it made him feel great to be acknowledged in public.

An eye massage? Oh, that sounds nice. My Daddy, lovely Southern man that he was, used to joke about my Mama's elderly aunts and the 'piss-bags' under their eyes. LOL!

It is amazing how folks have turned on the President and for the most ridiculous reasons. Here on FR, someone will post a story that the President 'might' do something, and the folks with BDS will immediately start excoriating the President for his actions, when he hasn't even DONE anything yet!! Truly annoying!

So true. I don't know how our fine President takes all this crap. It's this kinda stuff that makes you just want to walk away and tell them all where to shove the job. Thank goodness our President has waaaaaay more resolve than the average man. We are so blessed.

I think I'll turn in finally. It's going to be a bummer to want to stay up so late once I get home, because of the two hour time difference from where I am now. Ah, heck...it builds character! (and gives me another reason to see that lady for a facial and eye massage ;-) It's so sad all people can't be Republican and see the positives in things ;-) ha ha ha

Thank you, but there's no comparison to what THAT man or others have done. My Mom is a bit more reserved than I, and thinks I'm a little nuts for walking up to so many military guys as I did today, while we were shopping. I thanked them, and my standard line is, "Thank you for making the world a better place. Don't EVER feel you are not appreciated - you're a hero!" One was smoking a cigarette today...had a wife and infant. Right after I thanked him, etc., I said, "...and, quit smoking those things...you're too good to lose...and your child needs to grow up with you around. I think it might have been a message his wife has been saying, and now someone else was bugging him, too.... It was fun.

Alright - thanks again...off to bed for me!

The link at post 263 goes to a CBS website that is amazingly snide:

First Lady Fashion Faux Pas: Tale Of 3 Red Dresses
Laura Bush Can't Compete, Changes Outfit Mid-Party

(CBS) WASHINGTON It's always one of the biggest nights in Washington for stars and for glamorous fashion, with guests in the spotlight at an exclusive White House holiday reception. The designer gowns are always scrutinized, and on this year's bash, there was plenty to talk about.

Three women donned the exact same $8,500 red Oscar de la Renta dress, a fashion faux pas in itself. But that's just the beginning of this debacle of ladies in red.

It just so happened that First Lady Laura Bush was wearing the very same dress too.

Letitia Baldridge, Jacqueline Kennedy's Chief of Staff and White House social secretary says the gown was beautiful, but triple the trouble was quite the mess.

"They all should have congratulated one another on their good taste and the fact that they could afford the dress," Baldridge says. "Jacqueline Kennedy, when she was first lady made sure, and her couturiers made sure that nobody else wore that dress that season. "

&&&&&

What the He!! does "cant compete" mean?!

Don't you love Democrat first lady being held up as handling her "coutourier" collection in a better way.

"candy a$$es"? Armchair "generals" are always projecting onto others which they themselves in fact are.

I have a keen fondness and respect for the President and his dad.

Some "americans" (lower case) want either a dictator or an Atilla. People who feel compelled to speak ill of the President have issues they haven't yet worked out.

Of note.......not ONE military representative on this surrender commission

I don't know what I think about this "commission". I'm watching and praying.

You are absolutely right! I knew that when I posted the note...I was afraid someone would wonder if I was referring to our President, but I should have said "with the exception of President Bush, where have all the REAL men gone!" ha!

I'm praying as well, Alia.

The one thing we know for sure is that the Commander in Chief will not abandon the mission no matter what some group of bozos recommend.

We need to pray for him BIG time right now!

Yes and, IMO, it takes a real man to wear a bright purple tie! (And, purple is my favorite color too.) :-)

God bless and guide our President and his administration. Keep them strong in their convictions and unwavering in their patriotism. Amen.

Indeed and amen to that! It just breaks my heart to see this good man maligned daily by those who he is trying to protect from an evil they just don't 'get'. A lesser man would have caved long ago to the constant undermining and relentless criticism. It's hard for me to watch this, I can only imagine what it must be like for his family.

A good reminder to pray for his family too, Mama.

I don't know how they deal with this ugliness. I really don't.

And, all the while, they must put on a brave, smiling face for the public. Laura, bless her heart, presents a picture of serenity and radiance through it all (even though I know she has to be hurting deeply for her husband). It takes a very strong person to be able to do this. It is more than I could do under the circumstances.

Here is whaat I posted on one of "THOSE" threads in response to a couple of Bush Bashers who deserved it!

It wasn't really saying exactly what I wanted to say to them as I dcould've been banned for it.

I'll probably get flamed big time for it but it needed saying.

HE HAS SHOWN RESOLVE THROUGHOUT HIS PRESIDENCY!

WERE HAVE YOU BEEN THESE PAST 5 YEARS!

IN A CAVE?

IN A FOG?

JUST BECAUSE HE HASN'T DONE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANTED HIM TO DO WHEN YOU WANTED HIM TO DO IT DOESN'T MAKE HIM A FAILURE!

I'm GETTING SO TIRED AND FED UP WITH YOU WHINERS WHO INSIST THE PRESIDENT IS EITHER WEAK, A FOOL, OR AN APPEASER!

IMHO, HE'S DOING THE BEST DARN JOB HE OR ANY ONE ELSE CAN DO UNDER REALLY DIFFICULT TIME AND WITH VERY DIFFICULT PEOPLE!

That is what I wrote on the thread about the Bush Blair news confrence going on right now to a freeper who insisted he has shown no resolve or backbone throughout his npresidency.
