FROM THE SENATE Hearing on Robert Gates
The Senate Armed Services Cmte. holds an open hearing on the nom- ination of Robert Gates to replace Donald Rumsfeld as Sec. of De- fense. CIA director from 1991-93 under Presidents Bush & Clinton, Gates is currently President of Texas A&M University. Senators are expected to call for a new Iraq strategy during the hearing.
NOW ON C-SPAN2 & C-SPAN3
Hey Dubya picked Harriet Meyers for the USSC, anything is possible.
Teddy's view is always that the military are victims who need a daddy to protect them from the dangers of war.
Wow am I confused now. I thought Gates was president of U.T.Austin, now I see he was an AGGIE President. I wonder what the corps is thinking about him right now.
When will you accept reality? If we were winning in Iraq, we'd be talking about all the smoking craters in Tehran, not a new Defense Secretary.
Whatever Gates' qualifications, at least he's not playing the public for a bunch of idiots.
I don't know about the President, but I must admit, I visited http://www.privateislandsonline.com just yesterday.
No kidding! What's next, a botched joke ala Kerry? Sheesh!
Thank the Lord for Inhofe.
,,,who but a MSM/DNC arse kisser could get past a conformation hearing? Elections have consequences.

As Rush will probably say: that is one of life's undeniable truths.
Gates should point out that in the 5 years since 9/11 we have not lost as many troops as we did civilians in that series of attacks on the homeland.
All this while taking the fight to them.
Opps sorry it would require someone with balls to bring that up.
Teddy asks who should we believe .. you or the President
Gates says he will be independent and give his opinion .. but that there is only one President of the United States and he ultimately makes the decision
Bond up about the losing in Iraq comment .. I didn't catch his answer
fat Teddy is proof positive that men and women ,given free will from their creator, will chose the easiest pay back. The devil is a softer road on earth and therefore the easier embrace. However,God owns heaven and hell.
And hell is coming for one fat Teddy.
correction .. it was Inhofe that is up now
I know.. but what's the point? if he is weak, he's weak.. who the hell needs more weaklings.
Loved his answer to The Swimmah!
Ha! All nets, including Fox cut to their talking heads after the "we're losing" comment and more importantly, while Inhofe is up.
he's not that bad
C'mon. The "bring our boys home safely" bit is an anti-war mantra! Next thing you know he'll be talking "peace with honor." LOL!
Great quotes...very apropos.
Okay, Inhofe clarified, "General Pace said, 'We're not winning, but we're not losing', do you agree?" His answer, "At this time, yes."
Too late...guess which quote will be on all the televised and written media, etc.....
