Terri's Story
Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation ^ | December 3,2006 | Schindler Foundation

Posted on 12/03/2006 3:03:26 AM PST by 8mmMauser

Theresa Marie Schindler was born to Robert and Mary Schindler on December 3, 1963. She was the first of three children the Schindlers would have.

Terri was a shy, but comical, child who had an affinity for music, animals and the arts. She kept a small circle of friends and was dear to schoolmates, neighboring families and her own extended family.

Following high school, Terri came into her own. She developed a knack for sketching and doodling. She enjoyed outings with her friends. She was an adoptive mother to the family’s dog, Bucky.

Terri attended Catholic School while growing up and remained close to her faith throughout her life.

In 1983, Terri met Michael Schiavo at Bucks County Community College and the two began dating. He was the first romantic interest Terri had.

The couple was engaged within a few months and married a year later at Terri’s church in Southampton, Pa. She was 21.

In 1986, Terri and Michael relocated to Pinellas County, Florida and her parents followed three months later.

In 1990, at the age of 26, Terri suffered a mysterious cardio-respiratory arrest for which no cause has ever been determined. She was diagnosed with hypoxic encephalopathy – neurological injury caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. Terri was placed on a ventilator, but was soon able to breathe on her own and maintain vital function. She remained in a severely compromised neurological state and was provided a PEG tube to ensure the safe delivery of nourishment and hydration.

On March 31, 2005, Terri Schindler Schiavo died of marked dehydration following more than 13 days without nutrition or hydration under the order of Circuit Court Judge, George W. Greer of the Pinellas-Pasco’s Sixth Judicial Court. Terri was 41.

Not only does abortion count as being disrespectful to God's creation, but it also breaks one of the Ten Commandment by taking the life of another innocent human. Abortion is not the only thing related to this memorial. We all remember Terri Schiavo and how her life was taken from her through bureaucrats and politicians who disrespects life itself.

Many on the left do not understand why Christians feel the way they do about abortion and this issue of the sanctity of human life in general. People on the left call the process of abortion on demand, "the right for a woman to choose", but if the woman would only read her Bible she could clearly see that it is not her right to choose at all because our bodies do not belong to ourselves. In 1 Corinthians 6:19, the scripture backs this up by saying "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;"

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

>> The Senate Judiciary Committee also approved SB75 and SB76, which seek to clarify and simplify state laws dealing with living wills and decisions on whether to provide artificial food and water to an incapacitated patient who is terminally ill.

Betcha a buck the bill redefines feeding tubes to be life support and medical treatment.

Some blacks are appalled at the inroads of Planned Parenthood. All should take a look at how Margaret Sanger stood on race issues!

Wagglebee thread...

.......................

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- An African-American organization is upset that the nation's top abortion business has been included in a civil rights coalition. Members of Project 21 say they are outraged that Planned Parenthood recently became a member of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR).

Project 21 chairman Mychal Massie says Planned Parenthood advocates abortions -- particularly in the black community.

"How can a civil rights group that claims to support underprivileged blacks embrace an organization created expressly to hasten the demise of black people?" Massie asked in a statement LifeNews.com received.

>> "while she [Terri] was in a persistent vegetative state."

It never ends. At least they could suggest that the diagnosis was controversial. And that she wasn't dying.

Maybe somewhere, sometime, one reporter could even suggest that "PVS" patients have as much right to live as anyone else. What a revolutionary idea! People have rights!

To judge from his name, the writer seems to be Norwegian. That could account for the deeply disturbed mental processes evident in his views. The gibberish is obviously Norsk.

/probably joking :-)

Now this is amazing what might happen in North Dakota...

Ping to a thread by Princip. Conservative. Thanks, narses.

Four state legislators are pushing a bill to ban abortion here, a move that could potentially thrust North Dakota into the national abortion debate.

The bill's primary sponsor, Rep. James Kerzman, D-Mott, said his proposed ban would make abortion a crime in all cases except to save the mother's life.

Legislators will debate abortion ban bill (ND legislature looking at total abortion ban)

Euphoria ping from The Sarce on the joys of starvation in the UK. Thread by kiriath_jearim,

The Government has admitted it is allowing elderly people to battle against starvation in care homes and hospitals, years after being alerted to the scandal by charities.

Ivan Lewis, the health minister, conceded that some elderly people were given a single scoop of mashed potato or served meals with plastic cutlery "best suited to picnics".

His remarks, made to a local Birmingham newspaper, went on to admit that a single scoop of mashed potato "masquerades as lunch every day"

Frank Lloyd Wright: "I chose honest arrogance."

Boy, did he ever! If arrogance were an Olympic event, Frank would have retired the trophy.

When I was in college I was very impressed at his work and his "form follows function". Was much less enamored after visiting some of his lesser works, sort of tiny and uncomfortable for ordinary people.

I talked to someone who lives elsewhere in the state of Florida. A friend's relative was going to become a skin donor cuz the family lived out of state. As soon as the relative became aware of this so called donation, they stepped in to halt same.

When I told my friend what China does in re: the organ harvesting business, she was shocked. It sounds so sci-fi that people are appalled but nobody ever says "no way" when finding out.

Except, it wasn't Wright's idea. He stole it from his boss. Frank also stole several of his women. You know how it is with arrogant progressives. From a bio:

>> One year later, he went to work for the firm of Adler and Sullivan, directly under Louis Sullivan. Wright adapted Sullivan's maxim "Form Follows Function" to his own revised theory of "Form and Function Are One." It was Sullivan's belief that American Architecture should be based on American function, not European traditions, a theory which Wright later developed further.

So what does "form and function are one" mean? A closet is shaped like a closet? A mud room should be made of mud? In any case, he didn't last long with Sullivan, who fired him for taking contracts outside the firm.

Wright's love career is more fun. He was married to socialite Catherine (Kitty) Tobin, gave her five children, then ran off to Germany with a neighbor's wife, one Mamah Borthwick Cheney. Neither Wright nor Mrs. Cheney was divorced. These matters did not escape the attention of the Oak Park gentry, and Frank's career took a dive. (Bad function is bad form.) Presently Frank and Mamah came back to Spring Green where he built Taliesin. Just a few years later, supposedly, a deranged servant murdered Mrs. Cheney and six others, and set fire to the house. (Now, there's a story that needs a fresh look. Why would a servant have it in for Frank Lloyd Wright?) Nothing daunted, Frank rebuilt Taliesin, married one Miriam Noel, separated from Miriam Noel one year later on the story that she was addicted to morphine (why, Miriam?). He then immediately met Olivanna Milanoff, also known as Olga (Olgivanna) Lazovich Hinzenburg. They moved in together at Taliesin in 1925, but soon, Olga's ex-husband, Valdemar Hinzenburg, showed up seeking custody of his daughter, Svetlana. After crossing a state line, Wright and Olgivanna were arrested for violating the Mann Act. Valdemar may have been in hot pursuit, I don't know :-) Charges were dropped later and the happy couple were united in matrimony (formal wife #3, functional wife #??). Wright then got tired of cold Wisconsin winters (I sympathize) and built Taliesin West in Arizona.

This is not the authorized liberal biography. I suppose I could mention that Frank went to one of those creepy experimental kindergartens, did not finish high school, did not finish college, and was a unitarian.

I was just musing that the feeding tube must be the #1 murder weapon today. Haven't done any real research but there were 14,860 murders in the U.S. in the latest reporting year (2005). Of these, 68% were committed with guns (all kinds). So, for convenience, we can say 10,000 murders by firearms.

How many dehydrations/starvations? That stat does not seem to be available in the material BB dredged up -- those are comparative groupings, not numerical statistics.

Alzheimer's -- senile dementia -- is the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. (63,000+ deaths). A bunch of those have to be dehydration/starvations. That's a start. Moi, back later.
