How have you been?

Not the best. I've had a nasty cold for about four days now. It didn't make time with my son too much fun this weekend. He just coughed a bit; I was miserable.

The little guy was soooo charming this weekend. We stopped by his favorite restaurant, and the manager there loves him. Well, she was stocking some condiments in the dining area, and my son offered to help. He finished helping the manager and she said thank you. He responded with "thank you, my lady". She just melted over that one, then went back and told her other female coworkers, and THEY all thought he was soooo cute.

He is the most charming 6-yr old I've ever seen. But he had to go back to his mom, and now I'm stuck here by myself. Unless you count my FReeper friends.

But I know the feeling. I used to keep my grandson at times, and I hated to see him go back to his mom.

Good idea, except that I don't have any adult beverages to make it 'hot'. But I DO have this great powdered apple cider with caramel flavor. Boy, does it taste good.

Great. I'm sitting here watching football on Fox when a commercial for Cialis pops up (no pun intended). It kind of ruins the mood of watching the game.

Hot toddy: Hot water, honey, lemon juice...the liquor is added for extra punch, but the first three ingredients are what makes it work.

Back from bike riding. It got a little cold outside. Tried to tell the girls to wear pants, but they would have none of that. 20 minutes at the park and it was "I'm cold--I wanna go home!".

No, it's actually a home remedy, and it is time-tested. For centuries, that's what people used to break up a cold. The lemon juice helps with the sore throat and breaks up congestion, the honey helps to coat the throat and ease the cogh response, and the hot water is to make it all fit together.

It's the only thing I've ever taken that has ever really busted up my colds. Of course, I don't get colds any more (or the flu) so drinking one is for pleasure only. NOT!!!

Think of it as hot, sweet lemonade.
