One of the most extraordinary moments of the 2004 presidential campaign was when MSNBCs Lawrence ODonnell went totally ballistic on one of John Kerrys swift boat compatriots, John ONeill, on the October 22, 2004, installment of Scarborough Country. Roughly two years later, ODonnell was once again a guest of Joe Scarborough, and this time the object of his disaffection was Republican strategist Terry Holt (video here).
The discussion centered on Rep. Charlie Rangels recent suggestion that the draft should be reinstated. After playing a video clip of the Congressman, quite a melee ensued wherein ODonnell called Holt and basically every person in the Administration that hasnt served in the military including the President's daughters cowardly warmongers:
O`DONNELL: Well, you know, he suggested this a couple years ago, and he was fairly open last time

He's still on salary at MSNBC.
His hero BJ Clinton was the great warrior???????
He is an IGNORANT SLUG.
HOLT: Oh, my goodness!
O`DONNELL: ... go there, he would make a different decision! It is a disgusting disconnect...
(snip)
O`DONNELL: You didn`t do it!~
HOLT: Larry...
O`DONNELL: And you advocate war!
HOLT: We`re not talking about fear...
O`DONNELL: Just like President Bush!
HOLT: ... or no fear. We`re talking about...
O`DONNELL: He was afraid of combat, and he advocates war.
HOLT: Well...
(CROSSTALK)
SCARBOROUGH: Hold on. Did you say that about Bill Clinton also?
O`DONNELL: Yes! Bill Clinton was a draft dodger, classic afraid, terrified draft dodger.
O`DONNELL: He
SCARBOROUGH: OK. And he sent our trips overseas...
O`DONNELL: That`s right.
SCARBOROUGH: ... and aren`t you glad that he sent them to Bosnia and Kosovo?
O`DONNELL: I`m not sure that I am glad that he sent them there.
He needs to seek professional help.
...as does MSNBC for allowing him on the air.
I suppose you could limit government service in Congress and the Presidency to only those who have served in the military, just in case these decision makers were faced with a military situation.
However, wouldn't O'Donnell hate the idea of a militaristic government?
useless trivia of the day: O'donnell is married to the actress that portrayed Rockfords' blind girlfriend.
He needs a tranquilizer the size of a horse's rump.
What is UP with these people???....they won the election and they're still going radical....sheez....
Yes, and the scumbag Larry O'Donnell campaigned hard to elect the genuine war heroes George Bush, Sr. in 1992 and Bob Dole in 1996, because they were running against the snivelling draft-dodger Bill Clinton and of course no one like Bill Clinton should be allowed to make any decisions about war and peace, deployment of troops, etc. WHERE WERE YOU THEN, Larry, you snivelling dishonest coward?
Larry has some serious anger issue
BTW ... did you see the clip of the draft cards being burned??
THAT is the reason why the Dems want the draft back
Some of us have been calling people like this character, Lunatic Libs, since the 2000 election.
They get worse.
He has one of the worse cases of Bush Disrangement Syndrome ever seen.
Agreed ... he's become a promoter of controversy.
NO! They were showing footage from the 60's? Jeesh .. they can't stand not having the "old days." They probably daydream of pot, pony tails, free-flowing irresponsible sex, bongs, tie dyed t-shirts and other "far out" things ... retrogrades! They're making US re-live their wacky fantasies.
I elect that Rosie go out to the Middle East and negotiate with the terrorists.
**blush** I should read past the title. I usually do. I think Larry O' Donnell and Rosie O' Donnell should go out and try to negotiate. See what comes of that.
I 2nd!
By repeating history? Makes sense. It falls right in line with their hatred of the military. This bill makes a mockery of the "all-volunteer military" and the Democrats are going to use it as an issue to score political points.
Now THAT'S funny!
