You are a French Catholic? Cool! I am Catholic as well. Amazing how those prayers translate and I know not one word of French. My nephew who is 12 is taking French at school and when I think of this little 14 year old boy, Austin and the fight he has ahead of him, I feel very sad. God Bless him.

Actually part of my family left Normandy to invade England with William the Conqueror. The other part left prior to the Huguenot expulsion in the early 1600's. Both sides of my family have been America for over 350 years.

I was raised High Church Anglican.

I took French because I thought it sounded nicer than Spanish. I was also learning culinary French from my mother.

I learned more about the English language studying French than I ever did in English class in school.

Praying in another language focuses the mind on the prayer and prevents it from becoming a rote ritual.

Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!
(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)
