More than two years ago, I asked for your prayers for my son, who was undergoing treatment for a malignant brain tumor. His treatment at the time, though physically brutal, was successful. However, Austin's cancer has returned, and he will be going back into radiation and chemo soon - he had surgery last week.
This is so hard - he pretty much missed Middle School with this, and now here goes High School. Pray for him to enjoy college...
We will very much appreciate all of your prayers. Thanks you.

Prayers up for Austin. I know prayer worked a miracle in my daughter's life 10 months ago. Thank you for keeping me posted on Austin.

Just a very short update...
Austin is getting very close to his next phase (the high dose chemo and bone marrow transplant.) It is taking a really long time for his blood counts to recover, but he is being tested every day now, because he really needs to start as soon as possible. I'll send another short update when he goes into the hospital. The good news is, he is part of a research study, which means he will be getting an additional drug that has shown some good results in other kids.
He is a little low right now, because his grandpa (my dad) died this week after a long fight against his own cancer. It was not a surprise, but (obviously) Austin has had a kindred soul, and now he is gone. I will be traveling to the funeral this weekend, but Austin can't travel right now.
Please add my dad, Patrick, to your prayers. He was a college history professor who voted for Goldwater in 1964 - what was it Phil Gramm used to say? Conservative before conservative was cool? And he was a good man. I hope "good man" does not sound like faint praise - I cannot think of any higher.
Regards and thanks for your continued prayers.
continued prayers for you, austin, your family. May God grant you all the peace and comfort that only His loving arms can give!!
I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad. Continued prayer for you and Austin.
