You have every right to say that. Kids ARE disrepectful to parents/adults in both the newer sitcoms and in cartoons. The tone of voice is whiney and demanding.
I did a survey on one about a month ago. The name of the half hour sitcom was, "Dads" & just going on the name, what would you expect to see in the show?
