Since all the shopping is indicative of consumerism, which is not the 'spirit' of the season anyway, can Christians just please drop the subject this year? Celebrate Christ's Birth in the way you see fit, and spread His Word that way. Volunteer for an organization that collects toys for poor kids. Work on Christmas Day serving dinner to poor families. Invite some folks who may not be able to get to their homes, or worse, don't have any family at all, over to YOUR house for the day.

Complaining and whining that some retail outlet doesn't yell "Merry Christmas" at you with it's advertising isn't exactly spreading the message Christ brought.

No, we cannot just drop it this year, or any year for that matter. I'm not gonna let the secularists, the leftists and the communists, continue to rob Christians of what rightfully belongs to them. This "holiday" is a Christian observance and if the stores want to profit from it then they darn well better not call it something other than what it is. If a store has a specific policy to NOT allow people to say Merry Christmas or advertise with the word Christmas in it, then they do NOT get my money.
