You are right. That said, what was the kid thinking? What was his goal? Is this a ploy to get non-Muslim profiling enshrined in law and deed?

The purpose of the taser is to give a police officer an alternative to the use of deadly force when an individual is threatening. Not standing up fast enough is not a threat. Not producing ID fast enough is not a threat. An unresponsive person who's having a diabetic reaction is NOT a threat. Yet these are all examples that have appeared recently in news stories where cops have used tasers.

I'm very much pro law enforcement. I belong to our local police citizens' auxilliary. But some cops do abuse their authority, it does happen. Some of you need to pull your heads out. Being conservative does not require you to be in lock-step with everything a cop chooses to do.

"i don't think so.."

So if a cop tells you to leave a building are you going to ignore him? When do you decide to blow a cop off?

Your username suits you. Also you've got to be kidding me.

My last name is the same as one of the wisemen who brought gifts to Jesus. It is of middle eastern origin. I am descended from the Tarascan Indians of Mexico. I am not a terrorist or even middle eastern. It's ridiculous that you would wish violence on someone based only on their name.

Maybe if the future of America learned some respect, which isnt being taught in some homes, they wouldnt be dealing with the cops. I am not a cop, but I am a thinker.

---The purpose of the taser is to give a police officer an alternative to the use of deadly force when an individual is threatening. ---

It's also to give the police an alternative to wretling around on the ground with a psycopath that might gouge out one of their eyes, grab their weapon, or bite them and infect them with aids. How much risk should a cop be exposed to, in order not to appear "too mean"?

Watch the video. This nutjob was yelling at the top of his voice when they tried to move him out of the library, before they went for the taser. What were they supposed to do, just stand around? Call in a negotiator?

"DON'T TOUCH ME! DON'T TOUCH ME! DON'T TOUCH ME!"

At a recent football game here, some patrons complained about a drunk fan. The guy was hammered. The police came to talk to him. He became indignant and argued that he was not drunk. Of course, we all know what happened. He stood up to prove his sober condition and pitched face first into the aisle. As the police were escorting him out, another patron tried to defend him by saying "I think he tripped on this" while holding up a peanut shell.

Hilarity ensued.

It's a pretty simple formula really. When the cops tell you to do something...you do it.

Really? How about, "Open your door and let us in." "Do you have a warrant?" "We don't need a warrant, punk..."

Sorry, I think that its funny as hell.

That was my reaction, too!

"Stand up. Stand up now."

Zzzzzappp!

"Okay, now stand up. No?"

Gee, what happens next?!

When a cop tells you to show ID, or to stand up, you do it. If not, there will be consequences.

Frankly, if the Police officer is not in fear of his or another's life I don't think they should zap a person.

The enjoyment of any sporting event is increased when you get to see some screaming idiot tossed out.

Seeing someone (who was yelling I was leaving) being tasered multiple times is not humorous to me in the slightest.

Sorry.
