Attitudes like that do not help the war effort. Bottom-line is that we have a war to win and playing the "there really were WMD" in Iraq game is distracting from that effort.
Once again, nonsense. Calling the very people out who unjustly undermined public support for the war is -- I say again -- CRUCIAL to said effort. They cannot be trusted to prosecute the war because they are constantly looking over their shoulder for an exit sign (that doesn't exist) with their other eye looking for any excuse to run to said nonexistent exit. What spare time they have left from that is spent trying to ram the square peg of this war into the round hole of Vietnam. ZERO time is spent seriously thinking about how to win -- only about how to quit, lose and make it sort of look like we kinda-sorta won so France will like us again.
They want to quit, they want to discredit not only politicians and other civilians sounding the alarm about Al Qaeda & Co. but to discredit and embarrass the US military itself, erode American power and influence and further empower the UN, and they want to convince the public that we are in a war of Bush's own choosing for oil that we can quit at any time without consequence -- and NOT a fight to the death with Islamo-fascism.
THEY MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE so they can't continue to lead swing voters down the primrose path of appeasement and get more appeasers elected. Failure to confront them on all this is not an option -- if we can't win the PR war here on the home front, we cannot win the war. And if we cannot win this war, we are doomed as a nation. And we cannot win the PR war by helping the Democrats sweep their myopia, naivety and stupidity under the rug. Until the Democratic Party makes an astronomical change in its thinking about this war and the use of force in general, it is a death-wish to leave them at the helm.
Considering Carl Levin, next chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is not sure if Iran has a nuke program, it is VERY important and relevent to the war. Iraq is just one battle in a larger one. The "Bush Lied" lie has and will damage our efforts in dealing with the biggest threat now: IRAN.
