The names "Bush" or "Clinton" have been on every Presidential ticket since 1980.
I've had quite enough.

Agree, bump, no matter how good Jeb may be.
This brings in the family cabal, amnesty, going for democracy around the world, and the fears of out-of-control spending after campaign promises of small government.

Agreed, no more Bushes. There are plenty of other families, among the milions of American families, who have raised men fine enough to be president or vice president. Let's give them a chance.

Let's just say that Romney-Bush loses to Hillary Clinton in 2008.
President Clinton manages to mess up the nation and as a result, American voters do miss the days of steadfast President Bush.
So by 2012, there will be a national campaign to "Draft Jeb".

Please, no more Bushes. We need a candidate with a backbone, a good strong spine. The Bush's seem to have misplaced theirs! No, no, no!

My thoughts exactly...
Strategically speaking I don't think floating this idea of a Romney-Bush ticket was very smart on Romney's part. If he's locked in "Bush Part III" as his choice for VP, other Republicans won't hold anything back in the primaries. They'll have nothing to lose or gain (VP spot) and go after Romney tooth and nail.
I'm not sold on Romney, it's way too early to pick a horse, but I will say he is one of only two individuals who has shown me that he can effectively communicate his ideas to an audience -- so very refreshing.
The other individual, in my mind, who offers strong leadership, ideas, personality, and depth, is our former Speaker of the House, Newt G. Everyone else in my opinion is either unstable or just a wanna-be.
Should be an interesting election.

- Jeb Bush is a far better speaker than his brother and presents well in public. If it weren't for term limits, he would still be governor of Florida. Also, his wife is from Mexico and he speaks fluent Spanish - a big plus with an increasingly important demographic.
Regardless of whether he decides to run or not, Guilliani has to be on the ticket somewhere. Personally, I think a Guilliani/Rice or a Guilliani/Bush combination would have a lot to recommend them. Romney is just another little known white guy from a state without many votes.
However, the other two possibilities that I suggested both represent significant state votes and demographics.

Please, no more Bushes. I hear that! Bush 1 gave us Clinton because his no new taxes pledge went by the wayside, and p*****d of voters went to Perot. I can just see the second coming of The Clintons, courtesy of Son of Bush. I really used to like the guy, but the New Tone thing backfired big time, and that was four years ago, and he had no plan 'B,' just keep on New Toning until it works, which of course will never happen. Bushes as President let the Democrats set the Bipartisan agenda, and we don't need any damn bipartisanship, it only works when the Democrats get what they want.
To: rabscuttle385
I echo that. I think the Bush name will be too tired - and looks to aristocratic. We need fresh people, not political dynasties.
