Father God,

Sometimes we don't know why bad things happen to people who don't seem to deserve them, who are too young or too needed to leave us too soon. Help us to hold on to faith, Father, when such a disaster strikes us or someone we love. Help us to hold on, Father, to hope when there seems to be no hope.

Father, we lift up to you Chris, his wife Sherry and their two little children. We rest on the faith that you have a plan for them and that your love is covering every aspect of this situation, especially the children. We cannot see, in our human weakness, how Sherry and the children will surmount this situation, but you can see, Father, and you have sent your Holy Spirit to sustain and support them in every moment.

Father, you know every need. When they are lost and crazed with grief, you are there. Wrap them in your arms, Father; send angels to enfold them and carry them when they cannot see the way to go forward.

Thank you, Father. for their faithful friend Gretchen, for Jeffry_D. and for all the concerned FReepers who are coming alongside in prayer for Chris, Sherry and family.
