Leach makes a saltine seem bold and spicy. He's as zesty and dynamic as milquetoast.

I think Rick Santorum would be a better choice. Just watching his old democrat collegues diss him would blow the democrats "bipartisanship" out of the water.

Yes if it were the Jim Leach who went after Billary for the Whitewater scandal... NO if it is the Jim Leach who has been Uber RINO the past several years.

One of the saddest thing the "show them a lesson" Repubs who stayed home did was torpedo Bolton.
A real shame.

I think Rick Santorum would be a better choice. GOOD IDEA!
But I still think an even better idea is to just give Bolton a second recess appointment. Repeat until the Dims allow him an up or down vote.

About Santorum - I think it is a mistake to name someone so high profile. Why are we dignifying the United Nations by sending our best people to be Ambassador there?
Make Santorum our Ambassador to the Vatican.

Yeah, if Dubya names Leach to the UN, Gov. Thomas Vilsack (D)
gets to name is his replacement. Now there's a good idea....

Forget the fact that he is a RINO, his speaking pattern will put everyone to sleep.

Yeah, if Dubya names Leach to the UN, Gov. Thomas Vilsack (D) gets to name is his replacement. Leach lost his election, and governors don't appoint congressmen.

Jim Leach is my congressman here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Bush would be CRAZY to put him in the UN.
With friends like Leach, Bush wouldn't need enemies. He'd be fighting Bush's policies, not supporting them.
