I wanted to share a link to our web site for a new action Western feature motion picture nearing completion. This is an "indie" movie being made by folks who are just in love with Western movies and wanted to make one ourselves.
It is based upon a true story.
It is being shot in state-of-the-art high definition digital video.
This movie has been shot completely within the United States over this summer and fall, in Idaho, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and South Dakota.
You can watch a two-minute trailer of scenes from the movie at our site.

Pictures look good. I'll have to wait till I'm at work and have high speed to check out the trailer. I love westerns and I love it when an independant film company can bring quality to the table. I have a 14 year old homeschooled son who only has one ambition in life: to make movies. A couple years ago he worked to earn extra money and buy himself a digital video camera. He and his friends made some really (I mean
really) cheesey spoofs on Star Wars and such, but this year he actually sat down and wrote out his first script and is going to be working with some of the other kids in our local homeschool association who have formed a drama club. It should be interesting to see what they can put together.
Our next big investment for him will be a good Mac with editing software (our current pc just can't handle it). I'm hoping when he finishes high school we might be able to find him some kind of summer internship or such with a film company, but I want to be careful what kind of influence he gets first off.
Looking forward to seeing your movie.

This is great. I'd buy a ticket. I love good westerns based on true events.
Wonder where in Tennessee the filming took place?
Have any of you western fans ever read Cameron Judd's series "The Overmountain Men?"
The stories are based on the area where I reside, and the nearby Cumberland Gap.

Our next big investment for him will be a good Mac with editing software (our current pc just can't handle it).I use a PC with Sony Vegas Video. It's pretty awesome and competes nicely with Mac solutions.

Great timing,
I spent today in sight of the HOLLYWOOD sign (Griffith Observatory is open again) - word of a real western, and an indy to boot, is a perfect end to that experience.
If you do start a ping list please include me.

That whole story of Red Cloud's War hasn't been told much on film. It would make for good Western cinema. Any good books on it?

You are right on target, this is the new age of cinema.. Your film has a big budget look to the cinematography.. Digital film has ushered in a new wave of movie-making.. This fresh talent that was hindered by money only a couple of years ago can now do more than experiment, and your effort has proved it in spades..
My son is a freshman, studying film at Chapman Univ, and is doing things on the cutting edge with digital equipment that is as rich in color and feel as the big boys with 10's of millions to gamble.. Great luck my FRiend, you are off to the races, and we are behind you..

Looks great NCLA.
I just wish I had known you were shooting in Tennessee. I would have come out and gave you the puppy eyes for a bit part.
Seriously though, I'll be keeping my eyes open for this one to give to my dad. He's a western NUT and I think he'd really enjoy it.
Good job.
