fyi
from an article about Bay Area lawmakers and their worth..
June 26, 2004
Bay lawmakers among wealthiest
Feinstein and Pelosi continue to top the list of the richest members of Congress

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/06/26/BAG7B7CDMQ1.DTL

Pelosi, who is married to investor Paul Pelosi, has amassed a large portfolio of jointly owned real estate, including three properties in the Napa Valley. They sold an 8-acre vineyard on Skellenger Lane in Rutherford last year for $1 million to $5 million, according to her disclosure form.

Paul Pelosi's holdings include a four-story commercial building on Belden Place in San Francisco, a retail and office building on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in San Anselmo and an ownership stake in the Auberge du Soleil resort in Napa Valley valued at $1 million to $5 million. He also has millions of dollars of shares in publicly traded companies such as Microsoft, Amazon. com and AT&T.

The couple estimated their total assets to be worth $25 million to $102 million last year, with liabilities of $6 million to $31 million. Assets are reported in broad ranges on the disclosure forms, making it difficult to determine a lawmaker's exact net worth.

Federal lawmakers are required to file financial disclosure statements under the Ethics in Government Act of 1978. The forms are released each year to give the public a financial portrait of their representatives and help expose any potential conflicts of interest with their or their spouses' business dealings.

Well, hard to believe that with all those Kalifohnia overpaid slimey lawyers this would leak out.
But, I don't know how you can operate a winery in Napa Valley without some illegal labor either.

She does not sell wine yet, but has filed for a permit to build a winery. Her grapes get up to $4,000 per ton. She sells those grapes to ................. non-union wineries.

As a retired federal employee, I didn't hear from my union for three years since I retired. Then just before election day, I get a union flyer telling me to vote for all the Dems against the Pubbies...they didn't like one Pubbie in my district, none of the Pubbies were pro-labor enough.

Now the joke's on the dumb Democratic work force, fooled again. Your Democrap leaders sure are for improving the lot of the American worker, hahaha.

Wouldn't have made any difference in her district even if it had come out a week ago.

KSFO's Melanie Morgan says illegal aliens are working in Nancy Pelosi's vineyard

####

Everyone in a Democrat district should be calling their congressman saying that this is why Pelosi is siding with Bush against the American people, especially the working people. Ask if they are on the American workers' side, or, do they side with Bush and Pelosi against the American worker.

Tell them they can't be for Bush and Pelosi and for the American worker, and you will know by how they vote on this whose side they are on.

Hang Bush around her neck.

It would be worth the price of admission to see that switch take place in Congress.

How much does she pay them. If it is less than minimum wage.......well that would just make this story complete.

They're non union, too.

When was the last time a demorat ever admitted to wrong doing and resigned? We can hold our breath but it would be a waste of time. It is their modus operandi.

I reported to the UFW on Friday that she doesn't use union labor on her vineyard.

After the long gulp on the other end of the phone, what did you hear?

Chavez was not a rich and powerful liberal; the WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST is on another level than Chavez is. Besides, she only hired one; this makes her an amateur as well as a peon. The Wicked Witch hires many. Expecting her to be held accountable for such a minor issue would be like expecting Harry GREED to be questioned about his shady land deals, like the bridge to his property in AZ that we paid for.

It must be understood that at least in the eyes of the Dems and the Press there are classes in this society, and the rich, powerful libs are in the upper class and above the law. The laws they pass are for the peons and the Republicans; not for them!

This is not anything like the serious offense Trent Lott committed by offering a silly platitude to someone on his 100th birthday!

Come on; get a grip!

THIS IS ONLY A CHARGE THAT MUST BE VERIFIED --- On the above thread is info charging that the manager of her vineyard, who also runs other vineyards, hires people and then does not pay what is promised. It is still above minimum wage. When they quit and go elsewhere, he hires others.
