I agree that we need a full-time RNC chairman. I think that the party chairman should be someone who has been a state party chairman and has been a U.S. senator, U.S. rep., or governor. Asa Hutchinson would be a great choice. He was Chairman of the Arkansas GOP, 1993-'97; U.S. Rep., 1997-2001; Director of the DEA, 2001-'03; and Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security for Border Security, 2003-'05. Last week, he ran for governor of Arkansas and lost, so he's unemployed.

Not only that. They have to be a good fundraiser and someone who has a general idea of how to get Republicans on the same message.

Have the problem with Repub media exposure is they are all over the place. They do not succeed as the Dems do in banging out loudly to get attention.

Newt Gingrich

I think Newt is the perfect man for the job. He is already running a media center all designed to get Repubs on board and with better exposure to the public. He's also already on public record showing he has the desire to not let 2006 happen in 2008.

He wants to help the Republican party get back into power. Why not let him do it from a position of power.

I oppose Martinez because I've never heard squat about him. Now is not the time to put up someone who has to prove himself. 2008 is critical to the WOT and rebuilding our majority. We need leadership that is proven.
