MSM in media acknowledged that Menendez is corrupt but said to vote for him anyway. Kean is the closest thing to a dem here, and while I despise him, he is not corrupt. Didn't matter a bit to the dems, they love their crooked pols.

I grew up in Jersey City. My grandfather was a ward healer for Frank Hague. The Dems use their political machine, including voter fraud to win elections. I just chuckle every time I hear that NJ is in play for the Reps, polls aside.

the problem is that our "majority" party did NOT know how to govern like a MAJORITY PARTY! The Rinos in the Senate have more than their fair share of the blame!

With Senate rules and people like McCain and Graham we weren't a "majority party."  We barely held a plurality.  And a lot of that is the fault of the White House for trying to play the game pretending that the other guys a good and decent people who will play fair.  It's time for the Chicago way!

Malone: You said you wanted to get Capone. Do you really wanna get him? You see what I'm saying is, what are you prepared to do?

Ness: Anything and everything in my power.

Malone: And *then* what are you prepared to do? If you open the can on these worms you must be prepared to go all the way because they're not gonna give up the fight until one of you is dead.

Ness: How do you do it then?

Malone: You wanna know how you do it? Here's how, they pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way, and that's how you get Capone! Now do you want to do that? Are you ready to do that?

Ness: I have sworn to capture this man with all legal powers at my disposal and I will do so.

Malone: Well, the Lord hates a coward. Do you know what a blood oath is, Mr. Ness?

Ness: Yes. Malone: Good, 'cause you just took one.

We have to apply that to what we're doing in Iraq and to how we deal with domestic enemies, as well.  McCain should have had his committee seats taken away when he betrayed his party leadership.  So should all of the Republicans in the gang of 14.  Every press availability by Frist should have started with questions to the media about why they weren't covering some Dhimmicrat scandal, such as Ried's involvement with Abramoff.  Every time Denny Hastert or John Boehner talked to the press he should have asked about the stalling tactics surrounding William Jefferson and the lack of media scrutiny.  It's how the Dhimmicrats have been operating for six years.  Our playing nice with them was unilateral disarmament.

And the really sad thing is that people like Talent, Allen and Santorum paid the price for the actions of McCain, Graham and Specter.

Rumsfeld did most of what he was hired to do prior to 9-11. He got rid of a lot of the chair warming Clinton butt kissers that were just punching the clock waiting for their new promotions to enable them to retire at a higher rate. Then they would be able to be consultants in the private sector with their Connections to the Defense Contractors, and they could continue to screw over the military from he outside. They also will be writing books, and probably be a part of K street lobbyists. They are greedy beyond words because the Salary they could earn as retired Military Brass is double what it would take the average American to live on, even with 6 kids. John Murtha is certainly not the only turd in the Punch Bowl,he is just the one captured on film with the Bribes that the DBM ignored in this election Cycle.

Border security/ illegal immigration is pretty much a slam dunk for us, at least it should be.
The only way we lose on securing the borders is when the entire topic is re-cast,re-invented by the dinosaur media.

We sure can tell how openly biased the MSM by this last election.

When CNN can run a special called "Broken Government" over and over and over, the week preceding the vote...they are NOT giving both sides, they are pushing their agenda.

I heard Mary Matalin complain about this on Hannity and Colmes...why hasn't anyone at the RNC COMPLAINED LOUDLY!!!

This is ridiculous that the MSM can openly campaign for a party and candidate....and no one worries about this.

Great stuff, so when the rats start their "oversight hearings" into the war, we need to be in an "asked and answered mode" to counter them.

Don't think it's going to matter wrt radicalizeing the Dims that Lamont lost. First, Lieberman said today that he's going to try to support all his constituents and be independent. And, moveon, ACLU, et al are expecting payback for their assistance in the Dims win:

Lieberman is back again as a Dem--actually he never left. He will be given his DHS chairmanship and will continue to vote with the Dems, e.g., against the confirmation of Alito. Lieberman has no principles. He wants to continue to feed at the public trough and be a member of the old boys club in the Senate. It is all about power and ego. If he had any principles, he would have accepted the verdict of his party in the primaries and got off the stage. Instead, withs the support of Reps, he is back in the Senate.

I've come to the thread very late but I was struck by your posts about Limbaugh. I do not agree with you at all about Limbaugh vrs MJ Fox.

Before Limbaugh commented on the Fox commercial the cloning bill was ahead 70-30. After Rush got into the picture and let it be known what the bill was actually the numbers dropped dramatically. Cloning still won but 51-49. Little consolation, but hardly Rush's fault. Tammy Duckworth had MJ Fox campaign for her and she lost. Is that MJ Fox's fault?

Talent lost because Talent didn't didn't run a good enough campaign and didn't get enough people out to vote.

Rush is quite influential as a commentator, but as a strategic political thinker he is a total flop.

Rush Limbaugh is a talk show host, powerful, influential, and one of the firewalls who stood firm against a tsunamis in this last election. He is not, and has not claimed to be a "political strategist". But, please, respect me enough to tell me how you rate those who were paid to be the "political strategists"?.

He I honestly think following his advice would be disastrous, because he obviously has a political tin ear (hence the Michael J. Fox gaffe).

Are you placing blame on our losses on Rush Limbaugh's commentary on Michael J. Fox? Please, I look to your posts for rational comments. So, I need to know: Are you really, honestly saying that Rush entering the Fox debate is why Republicans lost the majority?

Here's the thing: average non-political Americans think conservatives are heartless, rich bullies who are total hypocrites when it comes to ethics and morals.

Then please explain to me why so many Democrat house candidates ran to the right of their Republican challengers.

Great points, we need to stand by and as soon as the rats now in power start the impeachment process on GW(and believe me it will start, they won't be able to help themselves) let's start our own impeachment of dingy harry and bella, we have plenty to get started with, maybe they will get the message, go after our guys we go after yours.

Agreed. The biggest mistake we made was having the fence bill signed before the election. It gave the Dems cover, even Hillary voted for it. Bush and McCain neutered the issue for Reps and prevented us from drawing bright lines on the differences between the parties. I see it as a very divisive issue among Reps in the runup to 2008.

No matter what bill is signed for "comprehensive immigration reform," the problem is not going away. It will be a case of what the politicians and MSM say and what our lying eyes see. ERs will still be closing, schools overcrowded, prisons filling up, and medicaid payments and other social costs burgeoning. The issue is not going away. If we have an economic downturn, it will get worse as Americans see illegals taking away jobs. The increase in the minimum wage will make illegals more attractive. Stay tuned.
