WASHINGTON (CNN) -- On the same day President Bush promised a new bipartisan Washington, he began efforts to get two of his most controversial decisions approved before the Democrats take over Congress.
Bush on Thursday submitted the nomination of John Bolton as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and said he would like to move forward on legislation to authorize the National Security Agency's domestic surveillance program.

"Bipartisanship" to CNN: Cave in to Democrats.
They won't be satisfied until his head is on a platter. Bipartisian... BWhahahaha... what a joke.
Gee whiz! That's a problem. Wonder if he can do another absentee appointment?
Bristle away a-holes. We're just getting started.
Well, we can credit him for doing one thing right today. Now we'll see if the condemned GOP majority will summon the balls to follow through. My money says they won't.
What's with the "NSA domestic surveillance" program - I thought it was the NSA terrorist surveillance program ..??
And .. I thought it went through already .. why is this being discussed again ..?? Have I missed something ..??
Afterall, they wanted comity with this White House. Stroke of genius on the part of the White House. I love it.
Good news--the President has NOT completely rolled over.
Repub leaders need to twist Chafee's arms--physically if necessary-to drop the hold on Bolton.
Dem inaction or obstruction on the NSA issue will result in them being hit over the head with " the dims won't protect you" mantra.
The two year countdown to the 2008 election has begun.
Nuke 'em!
He can make recess appointments after the 110th Congress convenes and goes on their first recess. Technically, he could make a recess appointment now but it expires with the current Congress' term, thus it would only be symbolic.
Yup, cave in to the dems, be real nice to them, even throw Rummy under the bus, yup, the dims will surely reciprocate all the good will and new tone.
I am really starting to enjoy the DEMS tantrums already.
I keep hearing the pundits saying that the Dems will be moderate..and bipartisan..and not be extreme...out of fear that it would hurt them in 2008.
The problem with that theory is: They don't THINK they are being bizarre..and goofy...and dumb..
They think they have a "righteous" reason to obstruct, destroy and act childish...and NOW, with them getting the majority...
They won't be able to contain their natural inclination to do stupid things...
This is gonna be SO MUCH FUN...but WE have to catalogue, file away...and try to get as much public awareness of these dumb things they pull..day after day.
Now is when he begins?
Bush will be stripped bare and sent to a re-education camp by the time Demoncats are done with him. And there is no one to help him or us. His Rinoism will be his downfall.

The troops KNOW who Bolton is.
I certainly hope it's Biden who does the slamming. He deserves a good smackdown from Bolton.
Bolton is always good in those. :)
