He *really* did? And it's true? I've never heard any such inkling. WoW! Maher is a scumball of the first order. I do believe there's a special place in hell for him.

What's the compensation package, long hours, low pay, and all of the rolaids you can eat?
I am wondering if Her thighness Hildabeast is really happy the GOP won. Had the dems lost Howard Dean and John D student Kerry would have been dead in the water for 2008. Now The dumbest man in the Senate gets some headlines with Foreign relations.

I hope the GOP stands back and realizes that if they put up a slate of Reagan Republicans--optimistic, but not "compassionate", people who have real Republican values about taxes, spending, the size of government, the WOT--then 2008 will be the real response to the swamp that is DC. The public basically LET the Republicans lose, and the only folks around to take over were the Dems; but now we will see how awful THEY are, and the Republicans will be perfectly legit in saying "We're the new boys and girls in town."
New, younger, inspired by Reagan and steeled by 9/11, the stage is set for a Republican win across the board in 2008 if only because the voters WANT to feel proud of their country, and for all the love for them here, Delay and others who are hardcore rightwingers simply have too much baggage, too much MEAN in them.
Some here will pout that not all of these folks will be 100% what they want about their particular issue. Well, you guys got the congress you wanted from what was available on Tuesday, hope you're happy. But if the Republicans can get off their priggish judgmental interference with people's everyday lives (gambling, Schiavo, etc.) and preach a simple message--say, "We're about low taxes, winning the WOT, and keeping government out of your life"--nothing the Dems have can stop them.

Rumor has it that Maher hit on Mehlman, and he turned him down.

Didn't I read yesterday that Michael Steele was going to take that position? He sure deserves something better than this.

No surprise there....maybe he can go shoot Bill Maher just for fun....Seriously though people are talking about Michael Steele for this job. I think that would be a great pick.

While Steele would be GREAT as head of the RNC, (taking names and kicking @$$) I think he would be amazing as VP in '08.
Newt is the man for RNC. Viva la Class of '94!!!!
