Kansas Voters Let Abortionist, George "Tiller the Killer", Avoid Criminal Investigation

WICHITA, Kansas, November 9, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline lost the Attorney General race 42% to 58% on Tuesday to Democrat Paul Morrison, a vehement supporter of abortion.  In the past few years, Kline has garnered national attention and pro-life support for his investigation into local abortion clinics and their concealment of probable child rape cases and the performance of illegal late-term abortions.

Kline had just recently been granted access to 90 medical records from abortionist George Tiller’s Women Health Care Services and the Kansas Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland Park.  Access was given only after a judge ruled that there was ‘probable cause’ that Kansas law had been violated by the clinics.

Under current Kansas law, clinics must report suspected child sexual abuse to the State.  The age of consent in Kansas is 16.  Late-term abortions, after the 22nd week of pregnancy are only legal if the health of the mother is in danger.

Morrison used the clinic investigations as part of his political platform saying that Kline had “misplaced priorities” and that, if elected, he would drop the investigation to focus on other issues.  When asked about investigations, he said, “We don’t use them for fishing expeditions so that we can thumb through medical records and find out who has what procedure done to them.”

It has recently surfaced that Morrison’s campaign was assisted financially by donations from abortionist Tiller’s own Political Action Committee, ProKanDo.  ProKanDo was founded by Tiller specifically to assist pro-abortion candidates seeking election.

Campaign mailings that slammed Kline professionally for the investigations, referring to him as “Snoop Dog Kline”, came from the organization Kansans for Consumer Privacy Protection (KFCPP).  According to official State incorporation registration records, KFCPP and Tiller’s own PAC share the same suite number at the same office address.  The campaign mailings attempted to conceal this link by displaying a different return address on the mailing materials.

KFCPP is not registered with the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission but does not technically have to register because it is not officially advocating for or against any specific candidate.  It is incorporated in the state of Kansas as a non-profit organization.  The IRS code forbids a non-profit organization from campaigning for a political candidate.

Julie Burkhart serves simultaneously as director of ProKanDo and KFCPP.

Mark Simpson, campaign manager for Morrison said that their campaign did not know anything about KFCPP. He also said the identity of the organization is unclear.

Kline’s supporters view Morrison’s campaign pledge to halt the clinic investigations as a conflict of interest considering his involvement and financial connection to Tiller.

Of the election results, Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said, “[Kansas] has voted to ignore violations of Kansas law that bans post viability abortions.  That vote has bloodied the hands of the Kansans who cast those votes.”

The left sees stopping murder and rape as a "misplaced priority."

O'Reilly has been covering Tiller recently; if he's discussed this evil turn of events, I missed it. He will be outraged, as I am.

This election was wrong on so many levels- Corruption and complicity to corruption are now a rampant part of society thanks to criminal coddlers who got elected by the people simply for the sake of 'change'.

I received all six of the "Snoop Dog Kline" mailings as well as mailings from another group that also lied about what Phill Kline was doing. Paul Morrison's campaign claims that it had absolutely nothing to do with these groups. If that's the case, what I'd like to know is how personal pictures of Paul Morrison got on these mailings. On one mailing, it showed a family portrait of the Morrison family and another picture showed Morrison with two guys in hunting gear. How did the groups get these personal pictures if Morrison was not affiliated with them?

Would you be able to email me what you received? Or could you photocopy the mailings and mail them to me? I am not letting this drop. I called the Morrison campaign the day before and they stated they did not receive any funding from Tiller. They also said they would investigate all violations of the law.
I plan to hold his feet to the fire on that.
Let me know if you can help.

PRO-LIFE IDEA:

Portable ultrasound is getting reasonably inexpensive. For heroes on the front line pleading with people before they enter an abortion clinic to execute an irreversible horrible act...offer to provide free pictures of their baby. A noble goal is to equip the heroes pleading with people in front of abortion clinics with portable ultrasound. Free live pictures of ones own baby before walking into an abortion clinic would be powerful. It is inexpensive enough to fit into many crisis pregnancy center budgets.

"The left sees stopping murder and rape as a "misplaced priority."

Unfortunately, it's not just "the left." It's the voters in Kansas. Kansas.

The results of this election are truly disheartening. Abortion ban rejected in SD, parental notification turned down in OR and CA, and now this. What is there to make of this, fellow pro-lifers?

Oregon and California didn't really surprise me, but Kansas and South Dakota certainly did.

Isn't there some federal law that this can go to Justice over?

O Reilly talked about him again tonite. I looked Dr Tiller up the other day , found some interesting things. Like he has been shot. The woman, Rachelle Shannon of Grants Pass, Ore., was convicted of attempted murder in the shooting of Dr. George Tiller in Wichita, Kan., in August 1993. She hit him in both of his arms and he was back to work killing babies 12 hrs after the shooting. Also that Attorney General John Ashcroft ordered protection for the abortion doctor in Kansas who is the subject of anti-abortion protests. Ashcroft gave Dr Tiller US marshals to protect him.(2001) Sad to say this so called DR gets protection but these poor unborn babies get none then or now.

It should be asked. What can we do better? Because I'm very confused right now about the values of our hallowed "red states" and the direction of this country.

Here's how it went if you have time to sort it all out.

link

Our little community of 2000 supported Kline around 3 to 1. But we have at least six solidly conservative churches and two or three I'd consider moderate/conservative.
Go figure...
