He'll "be forced to revisit the impeachemtn idea" within a month, and will file the bill shortly thereafter.

If they tried to impeach him this would be a short 2 year majority.

Not only that, but it would probably split the party, and we would finally have a viable third party, and the kooky libs would be forever marginalized.

Does "no" on November 9 mean "no" on November 10 ???

Pelosi sees what we see, that Conyers holding any such hearing as committee chair would be a disaster for Dems. She will, however, allow him to subpoena and tie up Administration personnel.

No, we won't be shocked.

It's just that they have smeared this President in wartime for votes, and there are many, many, many, people out there who believed it and will be shocked that if Bush was so dangerous, why not get him out immediately. Mainly young college kids who were brainwashed.

It sickens me.

I'd bet a six pack this is why Rummy got dumped. A trade between President Bush and Pilosi.

Baloney. The vast majority of Americans do not want Bush impeached. The Democrats would be committing suicide by trying it and they know it.

It's easy to talk tough when you're in the minority with no ability to affect the outcome. The Democrats are faced with the problem of their past rhetoric and no real plan.

This memo

Also see articles implying Rockefeller was one of the people who leaked national defense information leading to the NSA listening in news. Like that's news really.

Investigations galore, yes. Impeachment, no. Impeachment requires evidence. They have none and they know it. But long, drawn out investigations that give the appearance of wrong doing, even if there wasn't, that's politically useful.

If it wasn't for the Blue Dog Dems they wouldn't have won.

Impeachment is off the table. Yeah, right. That's like an alcoholic swearing off drinking, or a heroin addict swearing off drugs. For the next two months, yeah, maybe. As soon as they get in power, however, it's going to be ON THE TABLE. It's a certainty.

I don't even think they'll push for hearings on Iraq. They were privy to all of the information in the lead up to the war, there is nothing new that they will discover, they have nothing to gain by pursuing it. Better to just leave enough doubt in the public's mind.

"I bet those idiots at DU are pissed. LOL"

I have an idiot cousin that posts over there. He says though that secretly almost everyone he talks to on that forum feel betrayed. No impeachment and all the "moderate" dims elected. They know that this was a phyrric victory.

The D Congress investigated, interrogated, and dug into the Reagan and Bush administrations over Iran-Contra. They were distracted and weakened, and nothing came of it.

The R Congress impeached Clinton. He emerged with a higher approval rating than he had going in.

An impeachment would be dumb. There isn't enough to sustain a conviction, and it would be a waste of time. Better to chip away a little at a time, to be a constant gadfly instead of a one-time charging tiger.

Geee, and I was looking forward to an impeachment circus for the next two years. Damn it.

It would of course fail, which would have been good in the long run for the GOP and America.
Now all we have to look forward to is endless enquiries.
