Charlie Rangel: "Who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?" (..Said the Man From Harlem!!)
http://michellemalkin.com/archives/006337.htm ^

Posted on 11/09/2006 12:43:12 PM PST by WBL 1952

Charlie Rangel opens his mouth...and mocks the South: (hat tip: reader CRB)

“It’s not just committees — our influence within the House Democratic caucus will grow enormously,” Mr. Rangel said in an interview.

To that end, he sketched out an expansive federal agenda: Teaming up with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on gun control, passing new tax incentives for urban job programs, and redirecting federal money to New York in return for the outsize tax collections that the federal government makes here.

“Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?” Mr. Rangel said.

I thought that the Democrats' discipline would break down. I did not foresee that it would break down so quickly.

Bloody marvelous. They will cut their own throats for us.

Regards, Ivan

Mississippi is one of our most beautiful states. I have driven the Natchez Trace Parkway several times during the fall leaf season. Fabulous! Does anyone outside of Mississippi know that in the fall the leaves turn red and gold there?

The first thing I noted as well. I had just forwarded a recent GOA report and it looks like gun control will be a major priority for them. Almost feel like I should buy another gun and more ammo.

Who the hell wants to live in New York? No offense to fellow NY freepers.

Ahem. NYC is only one part of NYS, which is made up mostly of red counties, BTW. Upstate's pretty nice. And I'll bet we have a lot in common with the folks in Mississippi :)

"Who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?" Charles Rangel

"The Northeast is the new South," U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle, D-Forest Hills, said last week, arguing that his party, even if Iraq were to fade as an issue, would be able to continue to count on near solid support from the Mason-Dixon Line through New England.

Two big middle fingers for the South. When you're giddy from a win and drunk with power, you tend to reveal yourself. Who'd think they'd start resupplying us with ammo so soon after the election? I, for one, may just take a look at Mississippi. Property must be a steal, post Katrina. I'll take MS govenor Barbour over MD's newly elected O'Malley any day.

Rangel says "Who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?"

I don't live in Mississippi, but his crack made me wish I did! Memo from Virginia to Mississippi: Tell Rangel to go kiss our Dixie tailpipes!

When will Rangel apologize and resign for offending Mississippi and the South?

People who can't stand NYC assholes.

You remind me of a rather painful dinner I once had. I worked for a company that had a headquarters in New York at one point. I went there on a business trip and dinner with my colleagues. One of my colleagues went out of her way to ensure I knew she was a liberal Democrat and that was part of where she came from and part of her "heritage".

I quietly endured this tirade. After she was done, I said, gently, "It's clear that given the last election, that apparently the opposite tradition is a touch more widespread."

It will likely come as no surprise that I left the company 6 months later. :)

Regards, Ivan

Don't mind Charlie, folks. He's just showing his lack of class and national spirit.

Hey, Chucky, baby, you ELITIST PIG! The "shot" below was sent to me by an old friend who was, in fact, actually BORN in Mississippi. He LIVED in Jackson for many years but LEFT when crime became a serious concern. He recently sent me this photo taken by another citizen there. The only comment he made was that nearly ALL of that crime is black on black.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Perhaps you should get down there and either give the criminals a piece of your mind or, drawing on your military experience, at least give your HONEST, LAW-ABIDING black brothers and sisters WEAPONS TRAINING so they can properly defend themselves.
