I am so sick of people who search for reasons to get their panties in a wad about Wal-Mart.
I hope this thing falls flat on its face.

I usually shop at Wal-Mart but I wouldn't get within 5 miles of one on the Friday & Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Silence on this issue retains the good will of the population that views homosexual behavior as undesirable without antagonizing homosexual practitioners and their supporters. Therefore, it would seem the smart business move for WalMart's stockholders, customers, employees and everyone else would be no comment.

In other words, you're happy about the fact that Wal-Mart is going to donate (what 5%?) of post holiday sales to gay groups? Or perhaps you oppose the right of individuals to make decisions in the free market and convince others of the validity of those decisions?

As if filthy, crowded, noisy stores aren't enough reason to avoid Wal-Mart.

Exactly. Wal-Mart does far more good than harm by lowering prices on consumer goods for everyone whether they shop there or not - it's a chain of stores and an employer of thousands of Americans. Last I checked, it didn't volunteer to be the point-man for unionists demanding increased benefits, socialists decrying big business, or social-conservatives opposing gay rights.

Me too. Just because the lefties go off on some stupid crusade doesn't mean we have to match their stupidity. Wal-Mart is the probably the most powerful anti-union force in the country right now, and we should all patronize them regularly. And since most gays vote pro-union/Democrat, Wal-Mart's efforts to build ties to the gay community has the effect of making gays feel more warm and fuzzy about a firmly anti-union company, which is likely to change some gay votes to the benefit of all.

Why should 5% of sales go to gay advocacy?
Give me one good reason.
