Need volunteers for special mission Veterans Day in Philadelphia area. Send me Freepmail ASAP if you are available. If you support our troops, they need you to watch their back this Saturday.
I'm off to help with a local Veteran's Day event ... sorry I couldn't make it.
How did it go?
Is the AAR forthcoming???
The other event that was combined with the one above, "Sea of Tombstones".
It's was a great time, we did very well, especially because there was many, many active duty military and their families visiting the Liberty Bell and Independance Hall. They were so glad to see that the anti-war grave robbers were not representative of public opinion.

If Freerepublic has any citations or medals for "above and beyond their duty", please tell me how to nominate Kristinn. He returned from Iraq the day before, woke up at 6:15 AM Saturday and decided to come, hopping on a train from DC and arriving before I did. The factual info he and Dr. Raoul were able to give to passerbys was essential. (I merely borrowed from their vast knowledge of the Pinko's history.) I counted at least 15 military folks (mostly Army), either in uniform or in civilian clothes, who were greatly encouraged to see our counter rally and to see dirtboy's large America flag flying proudly. We also had a fair number of folks thank us for being there.
A friend told me this afternoon that he heard a snippet report on the local news radio station (KYW 1060); I haven't searched for it on their website yet.
I can barely last 30 seconds on their websites. They are so hate-filled.
Thank you all for being there for military and for us all!!!
Had you known he could have rode up with you! You had quite a haul to get there from DC, too. Thanks!
I almost backed out, wanting to hang in DC. Glad I didn't or I would have been mortified to find out Kristinn made it and I hadn't. Of course I was mortified in trying to bellow out "God Bless America" yet forgetting the words in the middle. Fortunately, there was a very good singer available who not only completed the song but did it in tune! I don't remember the young man's name but he was visiting from Texas with a conservative studies institute which was meeting in Phila. (And yes, I would have offered Kristinn a ride if I'd a known.)
We need to sing our country's songs more often. Then we would never forget the words. How nice that the Texan helped y'all out. Thanks for going! That was a lot of driving for you.
Congratulations for your extra efforts! God bless you! I'm so glad there were lots of military there to buffer your zone. Looking forward to hearing more about it as your time permits.
The answer should be apparent to all - the rally across the street, criticizing the government, had an official permit. In Cuba, such a rally would have gotten the participants thrown into political prisons.
And it's pathetic that someone can be so blind as to be unable to realize such.
And we had a couple incidents where the wingnuts were demanding we stop our counterprotest. Free speech for them, but not for us.
But Sheehan was truly more bizzare than I could have imagined. She has a very deep Messiah complex now - to the point where she says she would walk out of a flaming plane crash and live for a thousand years. And she even chirped that freedom IS free - on Veterans Day at that.
But it was heartening to see the young men who came by and who were going to be shipped out to Iraq in the upcoming months. They were proud of their mission and serious about the heritage they were upholding.
And we had older vets come up and thank us - but I thanked them instead - me coming out for six hours on a Saturday is nothing compared to their service.
Aint' that the truth! (And I didn't even log 6 hours. . .) I had one older gentleman wearing a hat with a VFW shirt say thank you. I told him, no the thanks was owed him. If his generation hadn't done their duty, Hitler would have succeeded. His response? "No, I was in the Spanish American war." Then he started to laugh.
Great work!
Excellent work. Sheehan is too much. Now with an immortal complex. It's not end times yet, though, because she hasn't convinced anyone.
Sorry, I didn't see this previously. My apologies. Next time! (I know I keep saying that)
Not a problem. Shame you missed out on the fun.
I sure did!
I was there today , and looked all over for you two. Did you make it? It was a beautiful day, I am almost sure I would recognize Kristinn. It was disappointing not to meet up with you both. Hope you made it, and you are both having a great time in Georgia.
