Again, I say: The Republicans have been COMPROMISED.
See your point -- let them have the tax hikes and spend more while all of us spend our time getting ready to take them out in 2008. See what the folks that wanted the RATs in charge say when their taxes go up and spending gets even higher. What is your take on the chance of vetoes?
These are dark days for America. It's very interesting to note that while the Democrats fought hard and never gave up, their tenacity won the day. But though Pres. Bush had equal tenacity it cost the entire GOP their power. Why? Bush's tenacity alienated his own base on self-destructive issues like staying in Iraq too long. He pugnaciously hung on to his insane push for amnesty for 20 million illegals. He boldly held his ground and called his own base "vigilantes". Bush fought hard, very hard, to allow the UAE, a muslim entity, to operate our eastern seaports, even inferring that his own base were bigots because they didn't want to see muslims in such a sensitive position during these dangerous times.
In short, President Bush's 'tenacity' turned many in his own party against him and the GOP, and it cost him. Bush called himself a "uniter" in his first campaign, but the man couldn't even unite his own party. The darkest days are ahead of us now because liberalism will smother most of what is still great about the U.S. Oh well, the hispanic invasion was going to spoil the party anyway, but now the party's over sooner rather than later.
