White House Collected Many More Confidential Files

WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, June 26, 1996) -- Capitol Hill aides disclosed that an additional 300 FBI files were obtained by the [Clinton] White House, among them files on former National Security advisor Brent Scowcroft and former CIA Director Robert Gates.

That raises the total number of files improperly collected by the White House office of personnel security to some 700 files, including many prominent Republicans, and the scandal is causing a furor among congressional Republicans.

Yeah, Buck, that's probably as effective as anything else they can do.

See your point -- let them have the tax hikes and spend more while all of us spend our time getting ready to take them out in 2008. See what the folks that wanted the RATs in charge say when their taxes go up and spending gets even higher. What is your take on the chance of vetoes?

This long time Bush supporter from 1994 agrees with you and your analysis.

There was something quite a while ago about the possibility of some of the records/files being sent to Arkansas and put in storage. I'm trying to think what I was reading when I saw that, but the brain keeps going into sleep mode today.

I very, very sadly must admit, I think you are right. We're the minority party, now, remember?

When you're the minority party, you don't get to do much about your "righteous indignation". Unless you're Democrat, with the MSM "hounds of hell" watching your back.
You all really do need to alter your mindset with a dose of reality.

I stayed up to 4:30 this morning and noticed I have had some typos today along with not remembering where I saw something! :)

I think I remember something about that as well!

Something tells me the poor man's job just got a whole lot harder. Bless his heart, I got the greatest email today, but reality still bites.

Reality bites big time. Dr. Coburn's job just got a lot harder but if anyone is up to the task, he is the man!

Of course, don't you know some of them are the sources of the "bottomless" mine of classified information that was fed to the NYSlimes, et al?

I completely agree. But somewhere along the way the "third partyers/"perpetually offended" Christians decided they had a "better mousetrap". Good luck to them.

But I am with you, PhiKapMom, until the last dog dies. Next time though, could we find some more loyal allies, please?

You can say that again---really, REALLY loud! We have been compromised not only from without, but within. And I'll be damned if I know which is worse--or more dangerous!

"Welcome to Klinton's Amerika, folks, hope you enjoy your stay."

These are dark days for America. It's very interesting to note that while the Democrats fought hard and never gave up, their tenacity won the day. But though Pres. Bush had equal tenacity it cost the entire GOP their power. Why? Bush's tenacity alienated his own base on self-destructive issues like staying in Iraq too long. He pugnaciously hung on to his insane push for amnesty for 20 million illegals. He boldly held his ground and called his own base "vigilantes". Bush fought hard, very hard, to allow the UAE, a muslim entity, to operate our eastern seaports, even inferring that his own base were bigots because they didn't want to see muslims in such a sensitive position during these dangerous times.

In short, President Bush's 'tenacity' turned many in his own party against him and the GOP, and it cost him. Bush called himself a "uniter" in his first campaign, but the man couldn't even unite his own party. The darkest days are ahead of us now because liberalism will smother most of what is still great about the U.S. Oh well, the hispanic invasion was going to spoil the party anyway, but now the party's over sooner rather than later.

CNN, 1996. Maybe they did; maybe they didn't.

What's your suggestion, then, in posting this article from 1996?

You are one sharp lady! But I don't see our great Doc Coburn pulling a "sit down". Bless his heart, he'll be in there slugging with the best of them! Don't you think?

Son of a Gun, he, and all our other conservatives, got betrayed as badly as any of us last night. Just damn.

Sorry for making this a two-parter (I didn't want to make either over long), but as to vetos? I'm not sure. The Prez seemed so dispirited this morning, he may just decide to "sit in that corner" with the other "punished" Republicans. His thinking, maybe, "this is what the public wants, give them what they want". Perhaps the "enough rope" theory. It's just too early to say exactly how things will shake out.

I'm just pretty sure, though, it won't be "pretty".
