I don't see Cheney resigning. Historically, vice-presidents don't resign except for scandal or illness.

I don't think the veep is the resigning type. What reason could he possibly give, other than ill-health of a critical nature.

Remember, he stands between the presidency and second-in-line Speaker Pelosi if something should happen to George Bush in the final two years of this administration.

The illness thing is an easy out. Don't get me wrong. I think it would be disastrous, but things are going very strangely right now. Very strangely. Expect more strangeness.
