My first thought. Him or Colin Powell, but I think Powell and the WH aren't on best of terms. However, Powell doctrine of overwhelming force contrasts nicely with Rummy's failed doctrine of underwhelming force.

Why now? Why not last week? Would it have made a difference in the Senate races?I doubt it. My guess is that this is a "circle the wagons" move to shore up the resources, and rob the Democrats of a punching bag.
