50 years ago - Eisenhower warned the U.S. about the "Defense Establishment"
It's a beast.

Ok- is it just me---or is anyone else concerned that Gates (new Sec'y of Defense) is on the Jim Baker Iraq committee that wants to leave Iraq?
Or I am uninformed...

I'm convinced that President Bush treats people as he would be treated. And that's what we always see him do - at least in public.

Yes, it was Republican weakness that lost last night nothing else. My God where the backbone of our party?? Who will be the next RR, or Thatcher? We need to study RR and the National Review (yes I know what WFB said about Iraq.)to learn how to rebuild our party again. I am going to miss Rummey. He is a brilliant and patriotic American---and he was a strong leader!!! Now that we are in the minority, I would like to regain power by our true conservative principles and LEADERSHIP! No more RINOS!!!
(Snowe and Collins can stay---for awhile at least ;) ).

Why do you all get the idea that something will happen to make the MSM (and most of the public) all of a sudden have this great ephipany and wake up and see libs for what they truly are?? It has never happened. It won't happen!
Fairness Doctrine!! Sounds "fair" doesn't it?? Everybody want to be "fair"

The RATS have every intention of creating another Vietnam,...
The shame of it is you are correct, and it doesn't matter how much blood will be shed if they get what they want--This from the party of human rights...

I know that you have said before that Snerdly lurks here. If so, I wish he would get Rush to answer What do we do now. I'm resolved that this is what we have for 2 years now, but what should we Republicans do now to ensure that the party now moves in the right direction. I email my Senators and Reps. frequently, but I am from a state that has strong conservatives, so how do I help the Republican party move towards the right and to stop being lukewarm?

If Bush has a flaw, it is he that he is a nice guy no matter what. He lives by the Golden Rule, sometimes to his own detriment.
