Election Day 2006 will be remembered as a turning point in American political history. Twenty-five years after the Reagan Administration came to Washington with a conservative agenda of limited government, the American people chose a different course.
It is the duty of the losing party in a free election to humbly accept defeat and to acknowledge that the people are sovereign in the People's House.
As we examine the results of this election, it is imperative that we listen to the American people and learn the right lessons.
Some will argue that we lost our majority because of scandals at home and challenges abroad. I say, we did not just lose our majority, we lost our way.

The Republicans got fat and soft in their majorities. They didn't want to live up to the promises they made to their constituents.
This will be good for them. NOW we will see which Republicans are going to roll over, and which are going to be part of a fighting minority in the Congress. I want to see which Republicans are going to be willing to pull every parlaimentary trick to be as obstructionist as possible. I want to see which ones are going to be unafraid of being called names by the liberal media. I want to see which ones have any spines left in them.
Denny Hastert, Roy Blunt, John Boehner, and Ken Mehlman (RNC Chair) should ALL be given the boot, Post HASTE.
It was the Republicans who chose a different course from limited government. This election was about accountability. The scare tactic of voting for the lesser of two evils did not resonate. To many conservatives, gridlock is better than what we have had over the last few years. The Republicans better hear the message loud and clear and get their house in order by 2008 because a Dem controlled Congress and executive branch would be a true disaster.
The Republicans blew it because they're no longer fiscal conservatives.

Sadly, this is just ONE of reasons. But the general lack of conservatism is a major issue. They stopped acting like conservatives quite a few years ago, and it cost us big.
Republicans lost because they didn't fight Liberals using their tactics. The American people are gullible and they bought into the MSM propaganda. Unfortunately, all of us will suffer the consequences. We have a determined enemy that wants to destroy us and the Liberal cowards will lead the way. IMO, the next dose will make 9/11 look minor. The American people will now get a dose of American Liberalism while our forefathers turn in their graves.
We were told that we had to embrace their ideas and work together, and we did.
We were told to put aside party politics to move this nation forward, and we did.
We did everything they wanted and we got what we deserve.
Our republican and conservative leaders were to damn busy trying to placate the left that they forgot who the hell voted them into office to represent US.
I do not deserve these election results, the rubber spined republican party does. Ultimately I will bear the brunt of the democrats pissy little rath of higher taxes and less security for my family.
There is not even one Republican man, woman or child left.
Even you and I have become liberal Democrats.
That's putting things in perspective, you scamp!
I hate to even ask but did Jefferson get reelected?
Hastert and Fritz....
Don't start fitting your wives and daughters for burkhas just yet. Our country survived Carter and Clinton, and, God willing, we will also survive the coming debacle.
Of course, the good news is that Nancy Pelosi said today that she is not interested in partisan bickering. She will fight to bring both parties together for the good of the country. Now is the time to put out differences behind us and move forward, blah, blah, blah....
(Sarcasm/off)
How about "Merry Fristmas" today?
OOps...that's Frist.....LOL...too little sleep.
November seventh in the year aught six. A day of infamy.
No kidding. When Charles Grassley starts channeling Paul Wellstone's ghost, you know its time for a change.
Yes, we are grownups.
Compare how conservatives are reacting this morning to how libs reacted in '00, '02, and '04. The contrast couldn't be more obvious. I'm still proud to be on our side.
