I'm not convinced the average American knows how illegal immigration has an affect on them personally. Start telling them about healthcare costs, etc. and they'll start to care. Seems the only people in AZ who are truly passionate about illegals are the ones who live on the border- and deal with it every day of their lives.

No they aren't. Arizona is flaming California. Even a great GOP giant like Hayworth can't win here. But Fox just said Bush welcomes the possibility of comprehensive reform now that the house is Democrat.

Why don't we just dissolve the freaking border.

Jim Ryun is giving his concession here in KS...a District there is no way in hell we should have lost..

Oh Great, now his wife is quoting scripture and the annointing power of Christ

(he had been painted as part of the "religious loony/Jesus Freak/anti-evolution crowd by Boyda)

And he was in trouble back in March...didn't believe it until last friggin week!

So now I have a liberal democrat as my congressman.
This is one reason why I left California!

I doubt it. They won't care until it actually DOES effect them personally. Just wait...now that the rats have some power, the borders will be wide open for the terrorists and illegals to flood in. Then they'll care.

Most people do not realize how a socialized medical program would drastically bring down the level of health care in this country. So many people think socialized health care would be a "great thing", but they are completely uninformed (the theme for the evening...uninformed, sheeple voters) about the real consequences of such a program. It would do our country good if those people would get up off their couches and get informed, but they prefer to stare at the tube and absorb...

I think it's the short-sightedness of it. We are rewarding open lawbreaking on the scale of tens of millions of people. I think it's planting the seeds of anarchy. We've already seen the preview in the massive pro-illegal marches, with law enforcement standing and watching.

In Tucson, the largest high school was rallied by one of the teachers (who proclaimed he would give them "civics" credit for it) into the march, waving their Mexican flags and shouting "Viva La Raza!", and the school buses picked up the kids afterwards. No one was fired for that.
