He probably made the vote because there is a decent case to be made that the precident of opening up protected lands could cause some bad effects on environmental policy.
I'm for drilling because I think that in this case, the need is great and the damage would be minimal, but I do think there is some danger in setting a precident of 'unprotecting' lands that we suddenly decide we can make money off of. All I'm saying is it's not a clear-cut issue and it's not an issue that reasonable conservatives can't disagree on.
Adjusted exit polls for NJ should be a range for Kean winning by 1 point or losing by 1 point. I wouldn't have called it yet.
Looking at what's left to report in VA, it looks like a pretty even mix of GOP v. Dem leaning areas. This is going to come right down to the wire...

There are no results yet in Ohio - everything is exit polling which for some networks is done over the phone. It's all BS. Unless it's a landslide race, the vote count won't be accurate for a couple of days because of the early and absentee votes.
The House Republicans accomplished a lot over the last 12 yrs, only to have it stifled in the (often Republican) Senate.
I don't think losing the Senate to the Dems (should that happen) would have much impact at all on our lives.
Losing the House AND the Senate definitely will.

Hysteria. Yes. Why does everyone keep asking how races can be called with just 1%? Where have they been the last 20 years. It's called exit polling. It has nothing to do with the counted votes. It is a projection based on exit polling.
