He has already been quoted as saying that with the new Dem house, maybe we can get a comprehensive immigration bill.
Uh huh.

Last I saw on all news networks - with 80% reporting, Talent had 800,000 and the DUmmy lady had 813,000. Don't have the latest.
Now, with 82% reporting, Talent is behind 17,000 votes....

You can put Ohio on that list also. THAT was exactly why my district voted Dem., IMO.

"Amen. It's Rudy in '08. He ain't perfect, but he can win."
Settling for a liberal to run against a liberal is not a way to win.

The party will drift away from conservatism thanks to the result of this election and most likely we will see GOP refocus as a moderate party. But how often do moderates have any articulate rational message? It seems to me that all too often they simply propose "Dem lite", in a manner that leaves them to blame when the Democrats' programs turn out to be dismal failures (as a sensible person would realize they would be).

I think for the most part we are conservative and traditionalists. The Republicans seemed to have taken votes for granted. As far as the democrats go, they have to at least feign conservatism or at least be extremely moderate to win. On the positive side...
A Nancy Pelosi, Diane Feinstein, Teddy Kennedy...would never be elected here. At least for now...well, maybe in Lawrence.

"We're too honorable to get down in the mud and dirty ourselves. "
The conservatives biggest problem. Do we maintain the moral high ground or let ourselves be brought down to the Dems level. Not the easy choice it seems sometimes.

I'd vote for Rudy if for no more reason than to see him cuff the MSM every day.

Is the root of your problem with President Bush class envy, Coyote?
You could have listed a dozen strong conservative things President Bush has done, but you had to call him a 'country clubber' to slam him.
Revealing.......

I was thinking about how bad this is but we still have a good president in office that is liked by probably even a lot of the Dems that voted today. No, he's pretty hated, actually. You can find some pro-Bush Democrats in the Deep South, sure. That's really about it. If Bush were actually on the ballot tonight, we'd be talking about 45-55 seats lost and a Democrat President.

This just goes to show the level of information that filters down to the average voter. Patricia Madrid is quite possibly the dumbest candidate to ever run for a House seat, yet she may win.In Michigan (my home state), the biggest dim bulb in the Senate Debbie Stabenow won easily. This in a state with a horrible economy. I'm still scratching my head. Don't even get me started on Governor Granholm winning again. Frustrating night all around.
To: hoosiermama
I like your optimism, but I think you're wrong.
We will be lucky to get Alberto Gonzales.
