I would NEVER place a bet on the repubs, or at least some of them, not caving in and voting to impeach Bush. Enough to make up 2/3? We'll see.

Amen. It's Rudy in '08. He ain't perfect, but he can win.

PA and VA have manufacturing and blue collar Reagan Democrats who want someone to look after their interest as our country goes headlong into the global economy. Nobody in Washington addresses the impact of job losses from outsourcing, wage depression by H-1B workers and illegal immigrants. Whatever corporate America wants, Washington gives. Well the Dems got smart this time, they went into blue collar GOP districts with conservative candidates that offer increases in minimum wage and a review of CAFTA and other trade agreements. That is more than what the GOP is willing to offer them, so in 2006 many Reagan blue collar Democrats are willing to give the Dems a chance. Many of the GOP blue collar districts, the Dems won by small margins. DING DING DING DING DING DING DING!
NO more calls, please!
We have a...loss.
"Rove, you Bastard!"
To: All
Well, at least my state did it's job and sent all of our Republicans back to Washington by decisive margins.
The only loss was TX-22 (Thanks a lot Delay) but we'll get it back in 2008.

"Yep, exactly. We will mostly be out of Iraq by Christmas 2007." Yes and by New Years day 2008 the cleansing of the infidels in Iraq will be in full swing.
God help them but the fate of the free people of Iraq is in the hands of the UN.
And, I am not sure they will commit troops to the region.

Helllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooo...Nancy Pelosi is now in charge of the House.
WE LOST THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE IS ALMOST GONE!
So, whether or not you accept the defeat, reality is that we LOST. "Surrender" isn't asked for...facing REALITY; however, is!
Why don't you follow your own advice? You're the one who is trying to fight with me, rather than to face simple but unpalatable fact.

[The party will drift away from conservatism thanks to the result of this election and most likely we will see GOP refocus as a moderate party]
I'd agree with you on this 100% if only you'd said the exact opposite.

I care about them because once the shias take over, we better pray that the differences between arab and persian outweigh the similiarities between shias. Otherwise, we are in for a very bumpy ride.

MO looks much better than MD to me. And MT is improving. And VA we'll have to wait and see tomorrow...

You do know that this was expected and most historians and political scientists predicted it in 2004.
