Oh...good grief....Sheppy Smith is blaming part of this on Elizabeth Dole saying that the dems don't want to win the war..

Then, old Rich Lowry said that HE thinks it is because Americans don't think that Bush knows how to LISTEN!!!!

Boy these people just can't wait to throw Bush under the bus for EVERYTHING.

Also..on my local radio...they played a clip of jon carry giving a speech tonight...where he said that "Americans have just said tonight that they won't give in to smear and fear"!!!

He still thinks he matters.

This is exactly true.

I am a professor who constantly offers to explain how we actually are winning in Iraq and have won.

I am never taken up with press time to explain.

I have never seen the media allow anyone other than Bush or Cheney explain in the media that we are winning.

The media is totally opposed to the war in Iraq and lies about our successes there.

Not the right thread, so I'll withhold my prediction in that area.

This still pales in comparison to the loss FDR suffered in 1938.

Same reason I'm still in NY. Family, jobs and other things that keep me here. I can't stand the fact the liberals run this state. I can't leave. I'd rather live in a red state. There's no doubt about it. ;)

Jobs? In NY??

I'm in exile in Pennsylvania, but if PA keeps getting more like NY, I might have to move on... :-( My family is still in NY, but I can't stand the taxes, laws, etc.

Pelosi will not have a mandate to anything.
The congress is going to be bottled-up.
The Republicans can now do what they do... act as the under dog.

Did you see it confirmed that they're now counting the absentee ballots?

They should break Allen's way.

Here I am - your former point, not the latter. Thought we'd keep the Ohio senate seat. Oh well.

From multiple posts in a variety of threads it seems they've long all already been counted and included in the results you're seeing.

I understand war as well as anybody on this site.

The nature of the war we are in now is not offensive BY CHOICE, by Bush's choice.

The Administration chose the strategy. They chose it from the moment they decided to not ask for a Declaration of War, which certainly would have made the war a highly offensive war.

Victory was never achieved in Iraq. And that is the problem, and will remain the problem.

I agree with you that the public does not understand war as well as I do - why should they? But the public does see a war in Iraq that we're not winning, and they are not going to permanently support what we are doing. They stopped supporting that tonight.

So, the President had best make the war in Iraq considerably more offensive, because the alternative now is defeat. Sooner rather than later.
