In Ohio, prior to this election, R's held every single statewide office except one Supreme Court seat. Given the scandals, Taft's incredible incompetence, the fact that we were in a mid term election of a 2nd term President, the state almost had to go Democratic. Even so, R's still have 6 of 7 Supreme Court seats, the House, the Senate, one US Senator and the Auditor and maybe the AG.
Pryce won too. It ain't so bad here.

some of these localities are heavy Webb that have not reported...what the HELL That's how you time releasing the stuffed ballot boxes - read the three volume biography of Lyndon Johnson for the 'recipe.'
To: God luvs America
Allen is going to lose. Nothing but Webb counties left to report.
Our only hope is the absentees.
To: Chicos_Bail_Bonds
You've been hoping for this all damn night! If it's that close, Allen will contest it. Sheesh....

I'm not convinced the average American knows how illegal immigration has an affect on them personally. Start telling them about healthcare costs, etc. and they'll start to care. Seems the only people in AZ who are truly passionate about illegals are the ones who live on the border- and deal with it every day of their lives.

Fox is describing a lot of these winning Dems as "conservatives." I find that hard to believe.
They wouldn't be RATS if that statement were true.

I've been wondering if the single woman vote in PA was part of our problems tonight. One reason I've always been leery of dating around here is that I figure 4 out of 5 are NARAL Dems.

If I had my way, the pension checks of those fathead generals would be lost in the mail for about a year. What leaders of our troops they must have been.

They have been telling us what they are going to do if they got any bit of power back for the last few years. You are blind if you think these Dems that won are not going to be in lockstep with Pelosi. You know why the Dems won? Because people like you thought they would act conservative SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY SAID SO! Fat chance.

"I'm not worried about tonight's elections. We now have the opportunity for the democrats to prove their worth, and they have to do it before a presidential election!
Let them pass the tax hikes and increase litigation to points where businesses leave the US. Let them make the federal government the official religion of the country. There is a tipping point.
If the republicans didn't give us the reform we needed, perhaps the democrats will provide the opportunity when their higher taxation laws and their welfare and entitlement programs, along with their continued slavery reparations attempts, break this nation.
Government is too big...perhaps we can get it to break under its own weight...the democrats are there answer! "
My wife made the same point. Demos will be highly visible for 2 years in the house--that can only hurt them for the Presidency.

>>>Well I hate to say this, but the Republicans have nobody to blame but themselves for this. The GOP catered to the Fundamentalist crowd to the exclusion of all else they once stood for, and this is what happened. <<<
That is the biggest pile of BS I have read in a while. The truth is G.W. Bush has not acted like a true Christian. He "turned the other cheek" to the Party of Satan -- which the Devil encouraged him to do -- rather than resisting the Devil (as in, "Resist the Devil and he will flee from you"). I have been saying for years that George Bush was just like his father -- a wimp.

Fox just quoted Snow as saying the congress can now enact "meaningful immigration reform."

Their main problem is they counted on the Democrats to play fair. The dims came out with all their dirty tricks because power is everything to them. Unfortunately, I am afraid the Republicans (minus great leadership) will be content to fall back into their old role of followers.

The Washington Post has these numbers for the Virginia Senate race:
Va. U.S. Senate Results (KEY RACE)
Candidate Votes %
George Allen * (R) 1,133,550 50%
Jim Webb (D) 1,127,537 49%
Glenda Parker (IG) 25,269 1%
Key: * Incumbent | Winner
Precincts: 98% | Updated: 11:42 PM ET | Source: AP
That puts Sen. Allen up by 6,000.
