Please Mods can we have one central Live thread ...its tough jumping from thread to thread to get results.
Yes, along with some of the StormFront people and a bunch of others.
Pat must be so happy tonight, eh?
It's ironic that Republicans are so willing to stand up to and fight Islamist psychopaths, yet completely unwilling and spineless when it comes to dealing with demonrats. It's like we are in bizarro world.
And you are absolutely right, the Republican leadership has no one to blame but themselves. You cannot stand by idly with a stupid smile on your face while you are being kicked and punched and expect to stay on your feet for very long.
Like you always say.
Get over it.
You have no idea what you are talking about in regards to mid-term elections.
While you're throwing around amens, you might as well know that in addition to having no idea if it hurt us, I do know without a doubt it didn't help.
I see 2 House seats in Georgia that the Dems are about to lose.
What secret? McCain's doing a happy dance all over our grave....and we're not dead.
I bet you the post analysis , will say that immigration hurt republicans because it depressed the hispanic vote. that will be the spin, heck they may pass ammnesty in the lame duck session. Also, agree with others that Indy's must have sunk us, if the talk of record GOP turn out holds true.
who's side are you on anyway? Why the bold??
If we keep the Senate and only lose 25 seats its well above the historical norm.
Damn straight, I want Curt to shout it to the roof tops about what he knows regarding Able Danger.
Howlin, I just think we're outnumbered. There are way more liberals out there than conservatives. I don't want to blame conservatives who stayed home, because I know they came out tonight. People are simply idiots, voting for Rat candidates. Why America why?
The really sad thing is that the media pushes the view that the Democrats are winning because of the problems in Iraq. They totally ignore (deliberately) that many conservatives could not get over the anger they have at our unprotected southern border, out of control spending, and lack of progress on social security reform. I held my nose and voted. Many people couldn't do that.
Amen, friend.
VA SEN [97.20% IN]
R- ALLEN 1,070,640 49.79%
D- WEBB 1,053,602 49.00%
MO SEN [915 of 3746 IN]
R- TALENT 271,779 53.7%
D- MCCASKILL 214,249 42.6%
I'm sure someone else has already mentioned this, but FR ran it's own poll and immigration didn't come up as even in the top 5 as I recall.
It didn't make the top 5 concerns of voters in the majority of polls I saw anywhere. There was a week or two, when the media was focused on it for lack of anything else to complain about, that it might have made the top 5 list, but I rather doubt it.
I don't believe that is a fair assessment for Dewine. Other than the past 2 years, Dewine has voted the way I have wanted him to for the most part. Flamboyant, no. But he was a solid conservative who should have won. Brown is not good news for Ohio.
Folks, I'm looking at every municipality yet to report in VA. This thing is in the bag - Allen will win by the thinnest of margins, but pending a recount this seat will be held.
I agree with you 100%. Moderate Republicans are poisonous to conservatism and a death sentence to an effective political machine. If RATs pretend to be conservative, then that's all one needs to know.
I have said before and I will say again the best thing that ever happened to the Republican Party in the 20th century was the defeat of Gerald Ford which allowed Ronald Reagan to assume the leadership of the party
Looks that way, thank God.
Does anyone know how the Senate seats to be defended in 2008 break down, R vs. D? Hope we can keep it, even if it's razor thin.
