You are absolutely right, I suspect many would rather hear fake and false news than to hear the truth.

I would like to note however that gold is climbing tonight along with the democrat vote totals. Wonder why???

No, I was pointing out the thought process for the Rat voters in RI. That's why RINO's don't do well, they piss off the base, and they aren't enough for the voters they try to please.

Makes sense. They have to move to the middle to placeate the libs. Main Street Republicans.

GOP should not have lost the House. With a booming economy and low unemployment people should be voting GOP. The GOP lost many Reagan Democrats (blue collar) over job outsourcing, H-1B workers, minimum wage and last, but not least lukewarm reaction to illegal immigrants and open border. Giving a person a tax break is meaningless if the Chamber of Commerce encourages illegal immigrants, H-1B workers and outsourcing jobs. Some of the GOP congress seats in rural Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina that should have been shoe ins were lost. Don't blame the economical nationalists FR, we have been screaming from the rooftops that blue collar workers in the GOP ranks have been disgruntle and restless for a long time over the free trade globalist approach of GWB and that it eventually will have political consequences. What CAFTA/expanded H-1B/tax breaks for outsourcing did to the GOP is what the Assault Rifle Ban did to the Dems when the respective Presidents twisted the arms of Congressmen to vote against the wishes of their districts. The votes came back to unseat them. The GOP lost control of the House, but corporate America got what they wanted. So was it worth it country club freepers???

The House falls to the Dems, he gets his way.

That is the stupidest remark I've ever seen on FR.

I've seen you before chanting the same thing; you one issue voters should be happy tonight; you got what you want maybe.

But if you did, you lost big time: because REAL Republicans ain't gonna help you win squat.

The two Green count as Democrats for caucusing purposes - socialist Bernie Sanders will caucus with the Democrats and Lieberman actually will not be an Independent - he will be a Democrat.

And, btw, I didn't mean to sound harsh. But I really don't like this "true" conservative crap.

I have a friend in town who is in her 60's and has voted straight Republican her entire life and she's pretty liberal socially.

It's a big country and a big tent party.

So I don't vote on one issue but look at the whole picture with emphasis on national security. It's how I've voted for 30 years and the Republicans win that way every time, imo.

Seriously, what "overspending."

Go and take a look at the Federal Budget, the discretionary spending items.

The only areas which has seen an increase higher than growth and inflation since 2001 are Defense and Homeland Security.

There's "pork barrel" spending, but it amounts to no more than - oh - let's say $30 Billion. Out of a $3 Trillion budget.

The only real spending increase is the drug benefit, which I oppose - but the Democrats wanted to enact a larger one.

The only way, in any case, that the "spending" will ever be brought down is through reform of Social Security and Medicare. And Bush tried - tried harder than any other President in my lifetime - to reform Social Security, and was abandoned by people - including many of you here.

Agree with you on the immigration issue. The Republicans failed to tap into an undercurrent among potential voters against illegal immigration. There is a growing wake of anger in American re illegal immigration- I see it among neighbors, friends, etc daily. As always, Republicans have difficulty 'marketing' their position or standing firm when criticized. They needed to be strong on this and other conservative issues without wavering. Wavering is what loses voter alliance.
