Can we knock off the armchair punditry for tonight?

We ran against Webb as well as Soros, Moveon, Hillary and the full staff of the Washington Post.

Sure, Allen wasn't perfect. But it's amazing the man is even standing right now.

Many Democrats oppose gay marriage (and a few libertarian Republicans support it, although they are few and far between in Virginia). They are not mutually exclusive but it is a good indicator.

I've got trouble believing that. Boucher's a Rat but I thought he was pretty much Congresscritter for life in the Ninth. They love him in the NRV because he's very tech-savvy (much more so than the Republicans, sadly--Boucher gets it when it comes to things like fair use and the right to not have the RIAA/MPAA control how you use your media) and in coal country because he's a Rat. If he lost...wow. I can't see it happening, but it would be a HUGE upset, wouldn't it?

Shea-Porter (moonbat) won 11/12 wards in Manchester with unprecedentedly heavy turnout. FYI, Bush-Cheney carried Manchester in 2004.

This is killing me. Maybe a good income and sales tax will wake people up here...

Yah, I know, I didn't see any numbers on the Barrow/Burns race.

FWIW, CNN.com has Burns up 57% to 43% with 1% reporting.

"Allen ran a terrible campaign. He could have won easily if he hadn't been such a political idiot during the campaign."

I disagree. He made a stupid remark early in the campaign in a state that has a large black population. Naturally, the lamestream media took great glee in trying to crucify him with it. He has been in a fight ever since.

If you want an example of a terrible campaign, Jerry Kilgore already set the benchmark for that.

Allen ran a terrible campaign. He could have won easily if he hadn't been such a political idiot during the campaign.

Well, I just don't understand the affection for George Allen. In the end, he had to run to John Warner to grab some coat tails in hopes of hanging on--the same John Warner who once boosted Democrat Chuck Robb over Oliver North--Allen had his eyes on a bigger prize than a Senate seat and it seemed to all fall apart on one ethnic epithet. Personally, I wished that someone would have challenged Allen in our primary.
