IN MARYLAND. On my way to vote today, there are at least 4 Large Ehrlich (Republican Govenor to be re-elected)and 2 large Steele (Republican Senator) signs that are missing, along with many small republican signs that were there yesterday. This really stinks. Not much can be done other than get out the word. Has anyone else noticed this?

I voted, but may have cops come after me....
As we went to vote, right at the driveway to turn into our polling place (a church) there were 3 campaign signs: for Mark Green (R) for governor; Senselessbrenner (big R) for Congress and to vote YES for the marriage ammendment!
On the way out, I got out of car, took them and laid them flat on the ground. Of course, some guy had to stop turning into the voting place and ask what I was doing. I told him that campaign signs were illegal at voting places. I am sure he took our license plate number down - but what the hell!

9. I wanted to stay across the street and keep taking them down if somebody put them back up.
My hubby asked about them inside and they said it was OK because the door to the polling place was 100 ft away (they measured?? - yeah right). But I contend if it is right at the driveway to turn into the place, it is trying to influence voters.

One explanation might be that some of the signs were picked up and put at the polling sites. Or, You may be right, and someone took them during the night.
Now, I have about 12 signs on my property (Indiana) and not one has been touched. Dims around here are afraid of the sight of blood, especially if it is their's. They leave whatever I put up in my yard alone.

I don't vote based on whomever's got the most signs, so whatever...
Not that the GOP has anything to worry about in my neck o' the woods - rural Washington County MD is hard-core Republican all the way. Dimowits can steal all the signs they want - they won't win anything in our district!

Allen signs torn down all over Norther Virginia. 2004 everytime the slithering dims passed out literature they tore down my Bush sign. The last time they destroyed the sign and kicked and broke the kids' pumpkins all over the yard. I replaced the sign with a hand painted sign saying, "The Party of Peace and Tolerance" destroyed my signs--Vote Bush. When we went trick or treating all the neighbors without signs told me they loved my sign. The quiet are often the right and right.

A lot of the Allen signs in Lynchburg have dissappeared or been defaced. I haven't seen any defaced Webb signs. Right now there are about 10 Webb signs for every Allen sign in town.

You could always paint the signposts on your property with cryanoacrylate or some other nasty substance. That ought to learn 'em.
Printers' ink would also be cool. If you put it on thick, it won't dry. Just paint it all over the signposts. It makes a real mess and gets on everything. It would be all over them, their clothing and their cars.
Tar and grease could also be used.
You could always wrap razorwire around the posts too, although that's a bit more annoying. That would slow them down a lot more.
