Heavy rainstorms in parts of the Tampa Bay area ongoing now...We just got that in St. Pete also, but about 30 minutes earlier (before the heavy rain settled in) we saw Katherine Harris and an energetic band of smiling supporters at a busy intersection near Tyrone Mall. We gave her a big thumbs up, although we'll need quite a few more thumbs to win. If enthusiasm could win it, she'd be in for sure.

The heavy rains here in my area (about 20 minutes north of Clearwater on the Gulf) have quit. Eerie stillness right now. Still socked in. Looks like a calm before another downpour.

This definitely will have an effect on the oldsters voting. However, most of them get up at the crack of dawn and probably a lot of them have voted already. The rest of the late afternoon and early evening will undoubtedly be the working forces (teachers, tradespeople, shop clerks, etc.). My county goes about 51% Dim and 48% Republican in the presidential elections.

Wish I had a crystal ball.
