I understand your thought. But at 9-11 Rudy was there and did and excellent job.Times Square was cleaned up and you can actually walk there with no problem now.

Of course it may.
Believe me, I am NOT going into bat for Saddam.
What I'm saying is that hanging him may not be in our best interests.
No matter how good it feels.

Nah...if anything happens it will be when Iran orders it. They mullahs are waiting to see what happens in the elections....If the Dems win, the troops are coming home.
To: warsaw44
You told him!
I sent him an e-mail last week concerning a Kerry article in the Telegraph containing the eternal phrase:
"DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM"?!

I think not executing him will be a supreme example of weakness in the eyes of the Iraqis on our side. Besides, not executing him gives his supporters hope that one day he will be installed once again as the leader of that country.
I do not think any hardcore Muslim would ever take a martyrdom of Saddam seriously.
Arrrhhh 666 the mark! L0L

I hear that they cowered before him even when he was in shacklesThat's the thing. They needed guards and court offficials that weren't afraid of him. Easier said than done with all that's going on, but he pulled a lot of stunts that undermined the court's credibility.

Symbolism is huge in that part of the world and for the rest of the Middle East seeing Saddam swing will have a huge symbolic impact.

Hardcore Islamic radicals have NO love for Saddam, true.
But, if he is executed, will it not be portrayed as "another Western injustice visited on the Islamic World"?

Sure, i told him the photos would be posted on the Sunday drudge thread where he had a number of fans from around the country and one in London. He was happy about that and so surprised someone in London managed to follow the show ( considering the time difference I'd imagine )
But then the pasta showed up and the subject changed quickly.
At one point at the end of the show I thanked Howie for letting all the listeners at the bar put our drinks on his tab.
Of course, he had a hearty laugh about that.
( Howie loves to pinch pennies as I'm sure you all know )
