Sen. Lincoln Chafee Now Leads Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse by 1% (New Poll
MSNBC | Nov 5, 2006

Posted on 11/05/2006 12:09:25 PM PST by Laissez-faire capitalist

Just saw it a little while ago on MSNBC. Lincoln Chafee, according to a new McClatchy poll, leads Sheldon Whitehouse (D) by 1%, 46% to 45%.

Kyl is ahead by 7%.

Steele is virtually tied with Ben Cardin (D). 47 to 44%

Burns has made a major comeback and is now tied with Democrat Jon Tester.

Corker is ahead by 12%.

Webb and Allen are tied.

Get out and vote! The Dems haven't won. Not by a long shot.

I don't necessarily disagree with you in one sense, but the problem is that so does Whitehouse.

I have no problem voting for the lesser of two evils, but it's complicated when they are both equally evil.

I 'guess' I'd still vote for Chafee, because he votes against filibusters and votes for Maj.Leader (probably). But if we end up with more then 50 seats, I might regret it.

This keeps getting better and better. So now the actual grass roots of the dimmi machine are being used against there candidate?

Does anyone know what Cardboard Ben was doing today? It would speak volumes about where they think there largest weakness is.

I'm betting that he was at a huge suburban Church in the morning, and then went to a campaign rally in Baltimore.

I know. I never thought I'd be happy to hear the words "Chafee is ahead."

if Chaffee wins, The way I see it, he owes the GOP, GWB, and us BIG TIME.

His very first act had better be a vote to confirm John Bolton.

Cardin was campaigning with Madeleine Albright on the 4th.

And this is going to help him with whom exactly? He is acting as if minorities were ignoring Steele.

He supported Roberts, opposed Alito, and opposed tax cuts. He even opposed Bush for re-election.

However, I'm rooting for Chafee too. It comes down to who are the chairman. On a floor vote, I don't care how Chafee votes because Ben Nelson usually will cancel his vote.

However, Chafee isn't on every committee, and most importantly, the judiciary. His presence in the Senate guarantees a Republican gavel.

Go Lincoln.

(I just think of it as Go Lincoln, not Go Chafee. It's much easier!)

Wow, this is great news, although I realize Chafee is FAR from the ideal GOP candidate... Will you all be holding your noses and voting for Linc?

We in Connecticut have been left with little choice but to (also hold our noses) and vote for Joe Lieberman... :-(

ANYTHING to prevent Red Ned Lamont from getting into the Senate.

Cardin didn't even realize or wouldn't admit to voting for the Patriot Act. He is stiff and out of touch and easy to dislike

Cardin is the caricature of the liberal Democrat. Ditto for Angelides who is Arnold's sacrifical lamb. People like them shouldn't be elected trash collector, let alone positions in high office.

too bad. Chafee needs to be retired, drawn, and quartered.

Then do it in the primaries -- don't risk giving the republicans charge of all that goes on in the Senate in order to teach the Republicans a lesson.

ANYONE who should know better, yet stays home and helps the democrats take over, is an enemy of this country, the troops, and the future of the US...period

Truly a lesser of two evils scenario.
