MSNBC | Nov 5, 2006

Posted on 11/05/2006 12:09:25 PM PST by Laissez-faire capitalist

Just saw it a little while ago on MSNBC. Lincoln Chafee, according to a new McClatchy poll, leads Sheldon Whitehouse (D) by 1%, 46% to 45%.

Kyl is ahead by 7%.

Steele is virtually tied with Ben Cardin (D). 47 to 44%

Burns has made a major comeback and is now tied with Democrat Jon Tester.

Corker is ahead by 12%.

Webb and Allen are tied.

Get out and vote! The Dems haven't won. Not by a long shot.

Are the GOTV efforts in MD significant? I would love to see GOTV combined with black community efforts. The turnout would be astounding!

No way. That was on MSNBC !? So, Chafee's +5% then. (Mixed feelings about this one, tho...)

Right on RI. Our nut I guess is better than their nut.

BTW, I have wondered about RI polling for a while. They have shown the GOP candidate for Govenor generally ahead, yet Chafee way behind? No matter how blue the press claims RI is, that was an odd polling result.

Great news! If the GOP loses control of the Senate atleast Bush will still have Chafee's vote!

Keeping Chafee is not about his vote, it is about committee leaderships. We can either have him and have them, or not.

If the Dems can't even win in Rhode Island, where Sheldon just a few weeks ago had a lead of over 10%, then they won't take the Senate.

What are the chances Republicans have no net losses or even gain in seats in the Senate?

In the event that the committee leaderships boil down to Chaffee's vote, how certain are you that he wouldn't stab the Republicans in the back à la Jeffords?

I think the chances are better that we'll gain seats rather than lose them.
