Iraq urges calm ahead of Saddam verdict

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's prime minister on Saturday urged his countrymen to accept the impending verdict against Saddam Hussein without violence, then in the next breath declared the former dictator must get "what he deserves" with the decision that could send him to the gallows.
Good catch on both your parts.

Post 956, cute.
maybe we should allow Saddam a last wish - a night of reckless passion with Katie Koran.
Saddam is no less an evil murderer than Hitler who was responsible for millions of deaths. Saddam did it on a smaller scale, but only because he didn't have the same power and military that Hitler had.. THANK AMERICA FOR THAT! Anyone that seems upset that Saddam got the death sentence is either crazy or evil.
Hey Saddam...you got my mailing address? Send me a postcard from hell. BUH BYE!!!
moonbat Ramsey Clark is very sad
"moonbat Ramsey Clark is very sad"
Clark got tossed by the Iraqi judge...ya gotta love it!
<< It's a joke, son. >>
It's no joke that "Now" is God's time.
That's not null and void.
Nor is it a joke nor null and void to believe that "life is short" is to rob oneself!
Nor to know that God's Time is in fact infinite -- is eternal.
My son.

<< One says something intelligent on DU at (his) own risk. >>
But why in Hell would one go there in the first place?
What kind of pathology draws one to Evil?
It would be funnier to play the song they seem to be playing on talk radio these days behind soundbites of Kerry's non-apology---Brenda Lee's "I'M SORRY" from the 50s/
But there are THIRTEEN more trials, and Saddam will probably never hang, and they know it. The trials are for the world to see. More would be accomplished by keeping him alive, as I suggested elsewhere. His supporters could be bribed to keep him alive, or kill him, their choice.
I don't know how importantly Saddam himself figures into their visions for an Islamic Iraq, maybe not at all, but his own Sunnis would certainly at least symbolically desire to keep him around, rather than see him swinging.
THe Sunnis directly could be given the choice: Renounce all terrorism inside Iraq, or watch us dispense with the other 13 trials, and HANG HIM NOW IN FRONT OF YOU. Be good boys and he lives, he could even be your leader in one section of a specially designed Iraq (It will happen, I think)
I just can't believe Karin would waste a question like that on Tony Snow. The question was soo stupid, what did she expect him to say? "Yes thats exactly what Bush and Rove did, we got the trial to end the Sunday before the election, just so the Republicans can stay in control, Yup Karin the cats out of the bag now."
actually that would be kinda funny if Tony would have said that in a sarcastic tone haha.
Quote of the Day - Judege to Ramsey Clark: "You are ridiculing the Iraqi people. You have come here from America. Get out."

Any chance this can be bumped to the top on the Breaking News sidebar?
Thanks!
I stayed up until they showed the video. I just had to see it. I am sure Saddam is now remembering the cries of all those people who were dragged out of his presence to their deaths. With no mercy from him.

How many smart liberals do you know? This is the girl who, a few days ago on Fox & Friends, declared that it was still pitch dark outside, only to be told by her other co-hosts that if she would only look out the window she would see that it was already daylight! She was apparently looking at some sort of black panel on the set and thought that it was a window! And how long has this girl been with FNC?
Kiran no doubt thought that she could rattle Snow so badly that he would blurt out some sort of confession to her and she could be the new hero of the pinko left. I hate to tell her, but she failed miserably.
haha! yes I remember seeing her do that, now come to think of it. Last Sunday.
I like how Tony basically slammed her and said that only a conspiracy nut would believe something like that.
I meant the verdict. And now the world will see Saddam's end.
BTTT for later.
